Bryan County Emergency Management Alert
County Wide Burn Ban!!!
The Bryan County Commissioners have Issued a County Wide Burn Ban.
The Burn Ban will be in effect until January 28 at 10:30am

We’re having our annual Kemp Fire Department Christmas parade on December 13th starting at 3:30p.m. Santa and one of his elves will be stopping and handing out gifts along the way!🎄🎁🎅🏼

With the temperatures being warmer on Saturday we will be starting at 3:00p.m.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Red Flag
Warning for GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, which is in
effect from 7 AM to 10 PM CDT Friday 3-14-2025

* WINDS...Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 12 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Up to 72.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Update:Highway 78 open

If you’re traveling from Yuba this morning toward Achille the highway will be closed down until probably after lunch or early evening. There’s an overturned semi right before Peanut Trail and they’re having to wait on the Hazmat crew to help clean it up which won’t begin until after 9:00 a.m.
