It’s another beautiful weekend on the island and we are getting ready to ride the trails but first….We personally want to thank everyone from the yeti crew Dirty River Bicycle Works for not only coming to KI to ride every summer but also their daily bicycle stoke and enthusiasm for 2 wheel shenanigans. The ringleaders of this merry band Ryan Adams and Kelley Pozza-Adams deserve all the accolades for not just building a business but a community and we looking forward to visiting the new shop and going on a Yeti ride on their turf!

to October 1975. Here we are 51 years later and guess what I’m doing today? THATS RIGHT! RIDING BIKES! And yes, wheelies all morning long! It’s unanimous, bikes are awesome and the trails on KI are dry and rolling fast!

KI Fat Tire Fest is done and dusted and we still can’t get the smile off our faces! Thanks to everyone who came and spent the weekend riding, exploring and laughing! Special thanks to the KI 4-H Camp for opening their doors and sharing their amazing camp with us and we are thrilled to announce that KIFTF 2027 is in the books for the first weekend in October! Stay tuned for more highlights!

Our fresh gear will not help you look as cute as Winny but it will certainly help! Kelleys Island Fat Tire Fest is upon us and in addition to having a good time on bikes this weekend we are looking to raise money for the association…. We have a great clothing line featuring designs and styles from our friends Micah Kraus and our restaurant Kelleys Island House is hosting a benefit breakfast buffet at the 4-H camp Sunday morning. So how about coming to breakfast in a brand new shirt and hat eh???? ’rebroke

“How do you get to the winery?” That’s a question we get asked frequently while perched behind the bar Kelleys Island House… and there’s a couple answers, sure you could just take the road, turn at the water tower, and badabing you’re almost there! Or you could take the adventure route, 6 miles of winding trail through a former quarry, and unique island forests. Depending on your skills set you may want to walk a couple sections or you may want to do several loops in some of the areas because, you know, jumps are awesome! Rise and Shine Everyone! It’s a big trail workday here on KI and we are icing the cooler and gathering the tools! A big thanks this morning goes out to our pals Yellow Springs Brewery for helping to sponsor our trail work crew… we love their b**r and it’s been flying out of the taps at our restaurant Kelleys Island House and it certainly makes the post work hang a tasty affair!

Fat Tire Fest is only a few days away, the weather forecast looks promising and we are so excited with the anticipation of Kelleys Island being overrun with cyclists… especially excited to see the team from Dirty River Bicycle Works They have spent the last year renovating a building and moving their locally beloved shop in Akron to a new location and we know they are ready for a well deserved break and you know what??? SO ARE YOU!!! So… let the cat keep an eye on things and join us this weekend for a bunch of 2 wheeled island fun!!!

We are only a week away from Kelleys Island Fat Tire Fest! The weather forecast is looking favorable, the mosquitoes are fading, the lake is perfect for refreshing swims, the trails are dry and clear, and oh yes the b**r will be cold! Although all the cabins at the 4-H camp are spoken for there are still plenty of campsites at the state park as well as Airbnb options still available. This year features new trails, and a new base camp at KI 4-H where Kelleys Island House will be hosting a trail benefit breakfast Sunday morning 10/4 at 9am. Aaand KITABA now has an official b**r sponsor Yellow Springs Brewery and we will be featuring their stellar fall b**r lineup Kelleys Island House all weekend as well as random cans here there and everywhere! We are really stoked to see the Dirty River Bicycle Works crew and the Yeti Gang next week and we hope that you all will get your chains oiled and hop on a big orange boat next weekend!!
