Residents interested in learning how to better prepare themselves, their families, and their neighbors during emergencies are invited to register for the Keller Community Emergency Response Team’s next round of training.
The CERT Basic Course equips participants with practical skills in disaster preparedness, fire safety and fire extinguisher use, light search and rescue, team organization and first aid. It’s also a gateway to join the Keller team, an official partner of Keller Fire-Rescue, for year-round training and first-responder support operations.
This year’s students will need to complete two free training components to join the CERT:
● Online Training: A self-paced, approximately 12-hour online course; and
● In-Person Training: A two-day, hands-on skills workshop held on Friday, April 10 (6-9:30 pm) and Saturday, April 11 (8 a.m.-5 p.m.)
