Keller Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association

Keller Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association A 501(c)(3) charitable organization, serving the Officers & Employees of the Keller Police Department & Citizens of Our Community.

The KCPAAA brings together graduates of the Keller Citizens Police Academy to improve relations between the police department and the civilian community. We work closely with the Keller PD Community Relations Office to provide volunteer manpower for a variety of activities. These range from national initiatives like the DEA's "Drug Takeback" days to uniquely Keller activities like the Keller Homec

oming Parade. Members of the KCPAAA periodically provide snacks and treats to Keller PD to help make their work shifts more pleasant. We host turkey dinner for officers, jail staff and dispatchers who are on duty on Thanksgiving day.

Congratulations Sgt. Jorge Torres!!

Congratulations are in order for Sgt. Jorge Torres, who recently graduated from the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration’s 149th School of Police Supervision!

This premier program brings together police leaders from across the country for an intensive course designed to sharpen management, communication, critical thinking and leadership skills — preparing them to guide their teams effectively in today’s complex law enforcement environment. Sgt. Torres was one of 47 leaders representing more than 30 agencies nationwide.

Welcome back and great job, sergeant!

Have you wondered if you could cut it as a police officer, or just wanted to know more about KPD? Registration is open for the next Citizens Police Academy!

This free, 10-week course offers participants a deeper understanding of our operations and tactics and serves as a prerequisite for those wanting to join our Volunteers in Police Services unit.

The next class will kick off with an address from Chief Brad Fortune on the evening of Jan. 5 and then meet from 6-9 p.m. on 10 consecutive Thursdays beginning Jan. 8. To participate, you must be 21 or older, live or work within the Keller or Westlake city limits, and pass a criminal background check.

To learn more and apply for this year’s course, visit www.cityofkeller.com/CPA.
