The Keizer Heritage Foundation is excited to announce that guided tours of the Keizer Cultural Center are coming soon, offering a deeper look into the building’s journey and the work happening inside its walls.

How Many Times Was the Keizer Schoolhouse Moved?

The Keizer Cultural Center wasn’t always meant to be what it is today.

It began as a schoolhouse serving generations of students and at one point, its future was uncertain. Along the way, it was moved… more than once… before finally finding its place in the heart of the community.

Today, that same building is home to four organizations, each contributing to a shared mission of preserving history, fostering creativity, and bringing people together.

Soon, you’ll have a chance to experience that story firsthand through guided tours, with a suggested $10 donation helping support ongoing preservation and programming.

We’re proud to share that the Keizer Heritage Museum Manager Robert Becker has been invited to serve on the Programming Committee for the 2026 Oral History Association Conference, “Landscapes of Memory,” taking place this fall in Portland.

Through this work, we’ll help shape how stories are preserved, interpreted, and shared nationwide while serving as a voice for the Keizer Cultural Center and strengthening our efforts here at home.

KEIZER IN THE HOUSE!!!

Honored doesn’t even begin to cover it! 🎉

Being invited to celebrate the State of Oregon’s birthday at the Oregon State Capitol was an incredible moment—and it happened because of the hard work and momentum behind the RAM project and our efforts to reimagine and modernize the museum.

All of the new promotional artwork played a huge role in making this possible—from the eye-catching retractable banners, to the new rack cards and promotional pieces, plus the fan-favorite beaver mittens and animal fur boxes. Those details truly helped open doors (literally and figuratively!).

The museum also had excellent placement right at the entrance, and the traffic was steady all day long, giving us nonstop opportunities to connect with visitors and showcase the fresh, modern direction of the museum.

Proud of the team, proud of the project, and grateful for moments like this that remind us why the museum work matters. 🦫✨

The Keizer Heritage Museum continues to grow and we’re taking Keizer with us.

As we streamline our operating procedures and move forward with our exhibit redesign, we’re building stronger systems that protect, preserve, and elevate our community’s history. This work is now being shared with heritage organizations across Oregon and nationwide.

We’re excited to share that our Museum Registrar has received an Oregon Cultural Trust Professional Development Grant to attend the 2026 Oregon Heritage Conference.

Even more exciting, the Keizer Heritage Museum will be partnering with the Coos Art Museum to present on Demystifying the Use of Artificial Intelligence for Heritage organizations, marking our very first conference presentation.

Thank you to our volunteers, supporters, and community members who make this progress possible. Keizer’s story is reaching farther than ever before.

The Day of the Dead (Spanish: DĂa de (los) Mu***os)[2][3] is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2, though other days, such as October 31 or November 6, may be included depending on the locality.

The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died.

The Day of the Dead has become a way to remember those forebears of Mexican culture.
