As if there isn’t already enough excitement this weekend with our upcoming Alumni Banquet 7/19, there will also be an even higher level of activity in Keeseville, with tons of great activities! Every July, the quiet charm of our local community transforms into an artistic hub that draws painters from across the Northeast—artists whose talent and passion bring new life to our beloved small town. Following months of intensive preparation and planning, Keeseville will host its annual Community Arts Festival which begins on Tuesday as 40 accomplished artists— some nationally recognized— will spend the week creating original artworks inspired by our region’s landscapes, architecture, and character. Watch for them all around the community as they craft their creations, and then visit the Plein Air Art Show & Sale Opening Reception at the Old Stone Mill, 126 Ausable Street on Friday, July 18 from 5 to 8pm. Stop in to see the artists’ interpretation of some of your favorite places around Keeseville. Will they choose to depict a site that holds special memories for you? If you can’t make it on Friday evening, don’t worry; the Art Show continues as well on Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and the always-popular Arts in the Park right outside the Stone Mill will have tons of fun, free activities for families. Important note: Ausable Street will be one-way traffic only during main festival events on Friday and Saturday, to accommodate street parking for the festival. There will also be loads of special events through the week all around the towns; some free, some paid admission. Here’s a link to more information-
