A second round of THANK YOUs today go to the people that always seem to hear complaints but rarely receive “good” recognition. The Town of Chesterfield have always been supportive of the Holiday Festival whether through donations or moral support. Highway Superintendent Champine and his dedicated Highway crew along with the Town of Ausable’s Highway Department are always supportive participants in the parade, juggling decorating trucks while still making sure the roads are safe. Clerk to the Supervisor Ocasio helped draw up and print, in color, notices, parade and house decorating contest applications, as well as maintaining the Town’s website to keep residents informed. Brooke Champine always decorates the office “just so” and bring her laughter and great attitude to everyone who walks in. Of course, Dan Costin is an employee who is always trying to make the Festival go smoothly, even after hours whether directing traffic or helping with the set up and clean up. Supervisor Barber is always asking if he can help in anyway, even working the Compaction Station for 4 hours so Dan could slip away to help on Front Street. Dave Winter and Kevin Dennis deserve as much praise as humanly possible, especially this year with the issues with water and their willingness to help even for Dave to come to port Kent on a Sunday morning to flood the ice rink at Watson Park. Town of Ausable Clerk Bonnie Hopkins also share her Town FB page to help advertise. Thank you all !!
