There are moments in rescue when everything seems to fall into place… and then there are moments like this.

The truth is, we’re struggling right now.

We still owe for one squeeze of hay that was recently delivered, and within the next few days we’ll need to order another squeeze. Each squeeze costs $1,545, and right now we’re trying to find a way to cover both.

Our animals don’t know when donations slow down. They still wake up every morning expecting breakfast, and it’s our responsibility to make sure they never go without.

I’ll be honest… writing a post like this isn’t easy. We’d much rather share rescue updates and happy moments than ask for help. But the reality is that rescue isn’t just about saving lives; it’s about being able to continue caring for them every single day. Lately, donations have slowed significantly, and we’re feeling the impact.

Good morning from our 3-legged pitty Delilah 🌼

Unfortunately we missed $5 Friday, so instead it's a $6 Saturday! 🐾

Today I’m asking for help with something we can never seem to have enough of… dog food.

With 20 rescue dogs calling HHFS home, we go through kibble, wet food, and treats faster than you can imagine. It feels like we’re constantly buying another few 50-pound bags just to keep up.

Our dog food comes from our local feed store, Hemme Hay & Feed, where each 50-pound bag costs $46.95. My hope is to raise enough to purchase several bags at once. Having a little reserve would give us some much-needed breathing room instead of making another feed store run every week.

If you’re able to donate $6 today, you’ll be helping fill hungry bellies and giving us a little relief from a big ongoing expense. Every donation, no matter the amount, gets us closer.

Her wound is healing up so nicely! Stitches will come out this weekend, and no more daily wound flushing.

Happy 6th Birthday to our beautiful girl Heavenly 💗🎉

Born blind, Heavenly found herself at risk of euthanasia on an Andalusian breeding farm. Thankfully, the veterinarian reached out to us and asked if we could take her in, along with another blind c**t.

Every birthday she celebrates is incredibly special because there was a time when she almost didn’t have the chance to celebrate her first. Watching her grow into the happy, loved, and spirited girl she is today is a reminder of just how much one life can matter.

Happy Birthday, sweet Heavenly. We love you so much! 💕

They know what today is!

The hay truck is coming, and we could use some help covering the cost.

The hay delivery comes to about $1,540 and we’re hoping our HHFS community can help us offset some of that cost.

For those who may not realize it, feeding the animals is one of the sanctuary’s biggest ongoing expenses. No matter what’s happening behind the scenes, they still need to eat every single day.

Lately our fundraisers haven’t brought in much support, and we’re feeling it. We don’t like asking, but today we’re asking for help.

Just when you think you’re going to have a productive day and get a dozen things checked off your to-do list, life has other plans.

During morning feeding this weekend, Reba suffered a severe laceration to her neck. We believe she may have been injured by a cow’s horn, though we didn’t witness exactly what happened.

The injury was serious. Reba was in shock, and it took several hours to safely get her loaded into the trailer to transport her to the large animal veterinarian an hour away.

The laceration narrowly missed her jugular vein and sliced through a neck muscle. After surgery/several hours of treatment, she was finally able to come home.

While we’re relieved that Reba is now back at the sanctuary and recovering, the emergency visit resulted in an unexpected veterinary bill of $840. As a nonprofit sanctuary, unplanned medical expenses like these can have a significant impact on our budget. If you’d like to help offset the cost of Reba’s care, any contribution is greatly appreciated.

We are incredibly honored to share that Anna Coe has chosen to run the Grand Teton & Yellowstone 2026 Half Marathon in support of Healing Hearts Farm Sanctuary.

More than that, we are deeply grateful that our sanctuary became a place of healing, comfort, and connection during a difficult season in her life. Stories like Anna’s are the reason Healing Hearts exists. This has always been about more than rescuing animals… it’s about creating a space where both animals and people can feel safe, seen, loved, and supported in their healing journey.

Anna shared how spending time at the sanctuary, caring for the animals, and simply being present on the farm helped her through some of her darkest moments. To know that this space could offer even a small part in someone’s healing is something we never take for granted.

We are so thankful for Anna, for her courage in taking on 13.1 miles through the beautiful Grand Teton & Yellowstone race, and for choosing to dedicate her run to the animals and mission of HHFS.

It goes fast… and we figure it out, like we always do.
