If you were at the Lions MD44 Mid-Winter Convention, you already know about FODS!
If you weren’t, here’s the scoop!
Several members of the Amherst Lions Club have banded together to form Friends
of DogSight (FODS) with an ambitious goal of getting every Lion or Club in the
state to donate to The DogSight Project. The amount isn’t relevant, even a $5
donation multiplied by every member in New Hampshire makes for a sizeable
donation. Forego one coffee a month and give it to The DogSight Project at the end
of the year. A simple thing to do – but if everyone did it, the impact would be
significant. Imagine every year giving Fidelco a donation large enough to raise one
or two of the finest German Shepherd Guide Dogs! The need is great -- will you
Help?
You can donate to the DogSight project any time. Please make checks payable to:
LSHF and write DSP on the memo line to ensure the proper account is credited.

🐾 Can NH Lions Achieve More? YES — and here’s how. 🐾

What if every Lion in MD44 gave just $5 a month for 12 months?
We have a little over 2,000 Lions in New Hampshire.
Do the math.
💵 $5 x 12 months x 2,000 Lions = $120,000
That’s nearly TWO Guide Dogs sponsored in one year.

Some will say… “You’ll never get everyone.”
True.
But we don’t need everyone.
We need MOST.
Skip one coffee.
Have one less drink at dinner.
That’s it. ☕🍩

Now imagine this:
✔ Every club passes a FODS bucket at each meeting
✔ A collection box at every pancake breakfast, car show, and penny sale
✔ Kids dropping in spare change
✔ Lions spreading the word to family and friends

Over the last 10 years, NH Lions have donated between $11,200 and $27,400 annually to support guide dogs. That’s good work.

But together — we can do more.

Picture this moment:
🎉 2027 State Convention
🎉 We proudly announce NH Lions funded 2 Guide Dogs through DogSight.
🎉 A life changed forever because of OUR combined effort.

Be a FODS.
Spread the word.
Challenge your club.
Lead your zone.

Together, we can achieve more. 🐾💛

Happy New Year!

It’s hard to believe it’s 2026 already. Jewel will be 7 years old in May. We’ve been a team for 5 years now. The only reason she will notice the New Year’s Celebration is because of the fireworks the neighbors enjoy. Jewel takes her responsibility for my safety very seriously and sudden, loud bangs sound dangerous to her. We do all we can to reassure her but no words in her rather large vocabulary can explain what that scary noise is all about. Needless to say, we won’t be celebrating her birthday with fireworks!

You can donate to the DogSight project at any time. Please make checks payable to: LSHF and write DSP on the memo line to ensure the proper account is credited. Please mail checks to the project Treasurer:

Guide Dogs

Most people understand that it is poor etiquette to pat a Guide dog. Fewer people understand that speaking to a Guide dog is equally distracting to it. And almost no one remembers that staring into a Guide dog’s eyes is equally distracting and can even be interpreted as aggression by the dog. Because these dogs are so well behaved, well groomed, and alert people are drawn to them. For the sake of the safety of the individual depending upon the Guide dog, please resist the urge to interact with any Guide dog.

You can make a donation to the DogSight project any time. Please make checks payable to: LSHF and write DSP on the memo line to ensure the proper account is credited. Please mail checks to the project Treasurer:
