An old, familiar quote tells us, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
Yesterday the board met for an official vote to dissolve Cooper’s Crossroad. It was an afternoon of tears, laughter and reminiscence.
Christina and many of us who were involved in the organization will continue to do work as it relates to our mission. We are very sad to say goodbye to the Cooper’s Crossroad name as we know it, trauma has touched so many of us. However we are so proud to have served the community. The difference these programs have made is tremendous. And the good work will live on.
Thank you to each and every supporter, staff member, board member, volunteer, participant, teacher, parent, community member (the list could go on!) We are also filled with so much gratitude for all of the horses and animals who helped create positive change in the lives of those who needed it most.
Here’s to a new chapter, whatever that looks like. Here’s to healing. Here’s to connection. Here’s to Christina Major who had a vision and made it come to life. And here’s to Cooper’s Crossroad 💚✨
