One year ago today, we lost our brother, Lieutenant Aaron “Coop” Cooper.
Though a year has passed, the impact of Coop’s life and service continues to be felt every day throughout our firehouses, our union, and our community. His presence is still with us. It is with us in the stories shared around the kitchen table, in the lessons he passed on to younger members, and in the example he set through a lifetime of selfless service.
Coop faced every challenge the same way he answered every call: with courage, humility, and commitment to others. Even in the most difficult moments, he remained focused on those he loved and the people around him.
As we mark this difficult anniversary, we remember not only the loss we experienced, but the extraordinary life we were fortunate enough to share. We honor the legacy he left behind; a legacy of compassion, integrity, service, and brotherhood.
Today, we keep his wife Rachel, his children and step-children Max, Sam, Lily, Ethan, and Lauren in our thoughts, along with all who knew and loved him. We remain grateful for the time we had with Coop and for the lasting mark he left on our community.
We miss you, brother. We remember you today and everyday.
