In August, Hundred Nights was chosen as the recipient of the 100+ Women Who Care: Cheshire County funding award & yesterday, we gathered together to receive their check for a whopping $19,500!! This funding will directly support our Food Program and we are so grateful for the amazing support of these wonderful women!
Through our dedicated Food Service team, we are able to support volunteers and our shelter participants in our commercial kitchen, providing breakfast and lunch to anyone in our community that needs a meal. On weekends, we support volunteer groups in preparing dinners for the community as well.

Each day we provide over 100 meals to anyone that walks through our doors. So far this year we have served over 27,000 meals! Our community members include not only our Shelter Participants, but individuals living outdoors or in their vehicles, at other area shelters or anyone facing food insecurity. And just as we are seeing in the shelter, the demographic of the people we serve is aging, with almost ⅓ of our visitors over the age of 55.

Breaking bread together builds trust and connection that can’t be done other ways. Nourishment in the form of sustenance and caring relationships. Nourishing the person is just the first step toward stabilizing a life!

📣 Today marks an important new chapter for survivor services in southwestern New Hampshire. 💜

The Center for Safer Communities is honored to share that the programs and services of the Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention (MCVP) are transitioning to The Center for Safer Communities.

For decades, MCVP has been a trusted resource for survivors, families, and communities throughout the Monadnock Region. We are deeply grateful for the care, advocacy, relationships, and commitment that have built that legacy, and we are committed to carrying this essential work forward.

What does this mean for our communities?

It means services continue. Support remains available. And survivors across southwestern New Hampshire will continue to have a place to turn for free, confidential advocacy and support.

It also means taking time to listen.

In the coming months, we will hold community listening sessions throughout the Monadnock Region. We want to hear from the people who know these communities best: survivors, partners, service providers, supporters, and community members. Your experiences, ideas, and perspectives will help inform how we move forward and how we can best serve the region.

For The Center for Safer Communities, this transition means expanding our reach while strengthening our commitment to creating communities where everyone can live free from domestic and s*xual violence, stalking, s*x trafficking, and abuse.

Same mission. Expanded reach. Safer Communities.
