🎶💜 Music, smiles, and a favorite visitor!

There are always plenty of smiles when Lester comes to Cedarcrest! His visits spread music throughout our building as children, young adults, and staff enjoy listening together and joining in whenever they can. 🎸

Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together. Whether it’s a familiar song that sparks a reaction or simply enjoying the moment alongside friends and staff, Lester’s visits create a special kind of connection, and a lot of joy along the way.

🎓💜 Congratulations to our newest LNA graduates!

We are proud to celebrate the latest group of Cedarcrest team members to complete their Licensed Nursing Assistant training through our partnership with River Valley Community College.

This partnership brings LNA education directly to Cedarcrest, creating an accessible pathway for employees to grow their skills and advance within our organization. At the same time, it strengthens the team providing hands-on care to the children and young adults we serve every day.

During the celebration, President & CEO Jay Hayston reflected on just how important these professionals are to Cedarcrest:
“LNAs are the beating heart of what we do at Cedarcrest.”

We couldn’t agree more. 💜 Congratulations to our graduates on this important achievement, we are so proud to have you on the Cedarcrest team!

💦☀️ Splish, Splash!

There’s nothing like a pool party to keep the summer fun going at Cedarcrest! Our adaptive playground became the perfect spot to cool off, with personal pools offering each child a chance to splash around and enjoy the water in a way that worked for them.

The laughter and smiles say it all. 💜 Moments like these are a wonderful reminder that some of the best summer memories are made simply by spending time together and having fun.

🌊☀️ Catching the Last Wave of Summer!

Beautiful summer days call for time outside, and we’ve been making the most of them at Cedarcrest! 🎨⚾

Our pavilion has been filled with creativity during outdoor arts and crafts, while a lively game of wiffle ball brought plenty of movement, teamwork, and smiles.

At Cedarcrest, recreation is an important part of creating meaningful experiences for the children and young adults we serve. Whether discovering a new activity, enjoying a favorite pastime, or simply spending time together outdoors, every experience offers another opportunity to engage, connect, and have fun. 💜

Summer may be winding down, but there’s still plenty of joy to squeeze in! 🌞

🌟 More than just housekeeping! 🌟

Our Environmental Services (EVS) Team plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the children we serve at Cedarcrest. 💜

We’re looking for a dependable team member to join us and help with:
🧺 Laundry & Linens: Washing, drying, folding, sorting, and caring for children’s clothing and linens.
👕 Clothing Care: Labeling, organizing, delivering clothing, and making sure children have what they need.
🧼 Housekeeping: Keeping resident spaces and common areas clean, comfortable, and welcoming.
🧹 Facility Care: Maintaining the laundry room, cleaning equipment, managing supplies, and helping keep our environment safe.
✨ Special Projects: Supporting detail cleaning, furniture care, isolation precautions, and other projects that help Cedarcrest run smoothly.

☀️💦 A little sunshine, a little slime, and a whole lot of summer fun!

We love creating opportunities for the children and young adults we serve to explore, create, play, and experience the simple joys of summer, all in their own unique way. 💜

🌿🐾 Learning doesn’t just happen inside the classroom.....it happens everywhere!

At Cedarcrest School, our classrooms take weekly field trips as part of our curriculum, creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn, explore, and connect with the world around them. This summer, our students have enjoyed incredible adventures, from connecting with animals at Dusty Dog Farm to spending time with our friends at Twinkle Town and Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) . 🐐🦉✨

These hands-on experiences help bring learning to life while building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and creating memories together.

We love weaving education, community connections, and the joys of childhood into every adventure. 💙

🚲💙 We're so excited to welcome a new adaptive bike to Cedarcrest!

Thanks to its larger size and increased adjustability, even more of the children and young adults we serve will have the opportunity to experience the joy of riding while building confidence, strength, coordination, and independence.

At Cedarcrest, our physical, occupational, and speech therapists work together to develop individualized programs that help every child and young adult reach their unique goals. This adaptive bike is another valuable tool that supports therapeutic progress while making movement fun and engaging.

This incredible addition wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of our community. Thank you for helping create more opportunities for the children and young adults we serve to grow, explore, and experience the joys of childhood. We are so grateful! 💙
