Our children and young adults have been loving visits to local apple orchards, enjoying everything they have to offer, from picking apples to checking out the pumpkins. Outings like these are a great way to make memories, share experiences, and enjoy all the fun that comes with a day at the orchard! 😊

🌞 All About Circle Time at Cedarcrest! 🎶

Circle Time is a favorite part of the morning for our non-school-aged residents in the Home-End! Each day brings something new, from singing songs and learning the days of the week to practicing sign language, checking in on how everyone is feeling, and enjoying a hands-on activity together.

From outdoor scavenger hunts and scrapbooking to arts and crafts and even baking, our enriching programs give children and young adults opportunities to learn new things, get creative, and have fun! 💜

Circle Time is also a special opportunity for members of our leadership team to join in, spend time with the children and young adults, and build the same meaningful connections they enjoy with students in the classrooms. 😊

💜 Investing in Our Staff, Investing in Cedarcrest 💜

For 43 years, Margaret “Peg” Knox dedicated herself to Cedarcrest, mentoring hundreds of LNAs and LPNs and encouraging them to continue their education and grow their careers in healthcare.

The Peg Knox Endowed Scholarship Fund carries that legacy forward by helping Cedarcrest staff pursue nursing licensure and advanced education in healthcare and allied fields.

Over the years, we’ve seen tremendous growth in our staff through these opportunities. Scholarship recipients have continued their education, taken on new roles, and even grown into management positions at Cedarcrest. This investment helps us build a team of tenured staff who know our community, care deeply about our mission, and make a lasting difference in the lives of the children and young adults we serve.

We recently wrapped up this year’s scholarship application process, and we can’t wait to share this year’s recipients with you soon!

🍎🍂 Fall fun is in full swing at Cedarcrest! 🎃

Our students have been loving the start of fall and all of the fun that comes along with it! Our Yellow Classroom recently took a trip to Washburn’s Windy Hill Orchard, while our Green Classroom enjoyed a visit to Alyson’s Orchard.

From apples and pumpkins to corn mazes and even a few farm animals, there has been so much to see, explore, and enjoy! Whether they’re out on a field trip or bringing fall activities into the classroom, our students are making the most of this beautiful season. 🍁

We can’t wait to see what other fall adventures are ahead! 💜

We’re just ONE DAY away from Walk & Roll: Cruising Through the Decades! 🎉💜

What better way to get excited for tomorrow than by looking back at some of the fun from last year’s Walk & Roll? We can’t wait to make even more memories with our Cedarcrest community this year!

There’s still time to register, so come join us for a morning filled with fun, music, activities, and community. And be sure to keep an eye out for Harvey the VW Bus! 🚐 Harvey will be parked along the front lawn near the main entrance, ready to add a little extra fun to your Walk & Roll experience. Don’t forget to stop by for a photo!

🚗 Parking: Participant parking is available at First Baptist Church (105 Maple Avenue), right next to Cedarcrest, and Cheshire Medical Center West Campus (62 Maple Avenue), across the street. Please do not park in either of Cedarcrest’s parking lots, as the main lot will be reserved for staff working that day.
