Harry Ling (Collegiate, 2025) spent six weeks studying abroad at the University of Cambridge through Pembroke College’s International Summer Programme.

While at Cambridge, Harry took three courses: International Cooperation and Conflict, Industrial Organization, and Economics of Growth and Development. The coursework provided an opportunity to explore international relations, economics, and development while being challenged by regular assessments and a final dissertation. The experience pushed him beyond his traditional STEM coursework and allowed him to explore academic interests from new perspectives.

Outside the classroom, Harry immersed in life at Cambridge, living in the college’s historic halls, participating in formal halls and other Cambridge traditions, and exploring destinations throughout Europe on weekends. The six-week experience also resulted in lifelong friendships and connections, membership in the college’s alumni circle, and the opportunity to reconnect with family and a part of the world that holds personal significance.

Today marks ten years since the O’Shaughnessy family lost their youngest son, Timothy.

In the years since, they have honored his memory by creating a positive legacy through the Timothy P. O’Shaughnessy Foundation. Through the Foundation, 35 of Wichita’s brightest, most innovative, and creative students have received generous Lifelong Learning Scholarships—opening doors to new opportunities, experiences, and educational journeys.

Today, as we remember Timothy and hold the O’Shaughnessy family in our hearts, we also celebrate the remarkable legacy his life continues to inspire.

Timothy’s story lives on through the dreams, ambitions, and accomplishments of the students whose lives have been touched by his legacy.

This summer, Eli Aziere (Independent, 2024) completed a six-week intensive archaeology program through the Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation and the University of Virginia, earning six graduate credits while working alongside professional archaeologists at one of America's most significant historic sites.

Throughout the program, Eli gained hands-on experience in archaeological excavation, conservation, and research while helping interpret discoveries for the hundreds of visitors who explored the site each day. The experience provided a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing excavation of Historic Jamestown, where archaeological work has uncovered new insights into early American history for more than a century.

Congratulations to Benjamin Kanagy (Trinity Academy, 2021), who has earned a Master of Arts in Biblical Exegesis (Old & New Testament) from Wheaton College!

This August, Benjamin will begin the next chapter of his journey as a Humanities instructor at a classical school in Fayetteville, Arkansas, teaching courses in Old Testament, New Testament, and Literature. He feels this role offers the ideal environment to grow as an educator while continuing to engage deeply with classical learning and holistic formation.

We are excited to congratulate Tamilore Adeagbo (Eisenhower High, 2021) on earning her Master of Health Science in Mental Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. When reflecting on her undergraduate experience, she shared Proverbs 16:3, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."

This fall, Tamilore will continue her academic journey by matriculating into medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles, David Geffen School of Medicine, where she will pursue her Doctor of Medicine. She chose UCLA because it values both clinical excellence and a deep commitment to serving diverse communities, and she feels the opportunity to learn from one of the most culturally and socioeconomically diverse patient populations in the country will challenge her to become a more empathetic, adaptable, and thoughtful physician. Beyond its academic reputation, UCLA also stood out to Tamilore for its collaborative environment and its emphasis on innovation, advocacy, and human-centered care.

We are proud to congratulate Owen Dent (Eisenhower High, 2026) on being awarded the 2026 KSHSAA True Blue Scholarship, a highly competitive honor recognizing excellence both in and beyond the classroom. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding community service, academic achievement, involvement across KSHSAA-recognized activities, and notable accomplishments in those activities.

Out of 561 applicants statewide, only 35 students were selected for this distinction, making the True Blue Scholarship a significant recognition of leadership, dedication, and well-rounded achievement.
