Just a quick update on the status of truck 20. The truck was sold to a small group of local firefighters. This group spent most of last fall and winter completing a rebuild of the coolant system, updating the batteries and parts of the electoral system. This spring and summer they are updating the braking system, and doing maintenance on the steering components. At this point the hydraulic and cable lift systems seem to function well but will get a once over as well. As one of the former care takers of truck 20, im extremely excited that the truck is getting the attention it deserves. Kearsarge Fire Department was in a hard spot, we couldn't justify spending fund drive money to repair an out of service truck.

Update on the sale of truck 20.
The truck was sold to a group of 3 local fire fighters. Their intention is to repair the truck to a safe drivable condition then strategically approach the thought of some restoration. Kearsarge will be granted use of the truck for weddings, parades, and funerals when possible. The truck will remain marked as Kearsarge truck 20 and a couple of our volunteers who have a connection to the truck have been asked to stay involved.
Some repairs to the brake system had to be done last week with good results. The truck should be moved to it's new home this week.
So if you live in East county, keep an eye out for her to drive through Tuesday or Wednesday if all things work as planned.
