Can we take a minute to celebrate CJ and his milestone of getting a year clean!!🙌🥳❤️‍🩹💪

CJ bring such a light to The village. He understands the importance of recovery. He realizes that drugs and alcohol were just a symptom of the problem.

He brings so much love, humor, kindness, and empathy to his role as a house manager. Since coming to The village CJ has been a part of helping The village grow. He has helped out so much around The village in many different ways.

We love you and we’re proud of you. Keep putting in the work and will be celebrating year two together!!❤️‍🩹💪🙏

Crack Heads! Dope Fiends! Drug Dealers! Criminals! All the stigmas that society calls us.

We are not those names.

We are kind, loving, compassionate etc etc. We just suffer from the disease of addiction that causes us to do things we don’t wanna do.

Today we enjoyed each others company. We went to meeting and enjoyed some recreational activity. Some of us have been in the dark for so long we forgot to how to have fun. Today we shared so much laughter and support of one another’s recovery. ❤️‍🩹

Something about the disease of addiction is that it attacks us mentally, physically, and spiritually. One thing about the recovery Village is we really help our residents understand the importance of recovery. We are relearning how to properly take care of ourselves.

A couple of us enjoyed Disc Golf this week. The joy we had of laughter and peace and just enjoying God‘s beauty while we were in the woods was very therapeutic. Because we have been living on such an animalistic level for so long we forgot how enjoy life clean and sober.

Today we are enjoying life without the use of drugs and alcohol.
