For any new members or friends, here’s a synapses of SPRY.

In 2017 the idea to create a group to support our local youth was born. This group is intended to provide a confidential place for individuals, businesses, and any other entity that wants to anonymously contribute to the purchase of 4H and/or FFA market livestock projects at our local Jefferson County (WV) Fair.

Year after year this concept has grown. As we continue to support the youth by collecting various amounts, it enables us to purchase market animals at the end of the fair week live auction. After the purchase, we provide the youth with information on the non-profit organization.

In 2024 we became legally established as SPRY Non-Profit. All contributions are tax deductible. This is very exciting and we look forward to continuing to support our youth in many ways.

The 2024 Jefferson County Fair was a great success. A huge thank you to our many anonymous contributors. We were fortunate enough to support 3 very appreciative young exhibitors and sponsor 10 special awards at the Saturday evening ceremony.

🐇🐐🐑🐖🐂🐄🥛Sale day is upon us. Like it was yesterday, I can remember the anxiety as a seller’s parent… Watching the mix of emotions our children felt from the first year selling to the last… The wonderment of whether they would be recognized for their hard work that led them to this point… Their efforts to hand deliver their seller’s letters, shake their potential buyers’ hands, look them in the eye, converse with them about themselves and their market animal projects… The auctioneer announcing their name at the sale signifying the unofficial end of another great fair week… The satisfaction witnessing our children, the children of friends, and the, once complete strangers, now friends, have a successful finale. This is why SPRY was created and thrives today.

For anyone that is on the fence, sign your child up for 4-H or FFA. They’re both life guiding organizations and will make both your children and you better, more knowledgeable, well rounded people.

2024 Jefferson County Fair midweek update:
We are off to a slow start, but I have the utmost confidence in all of you. Please consider liking/following and sharing our page. Please share our posts. The more people reached, the more successful our efforts will be.

A nonprofit bank account has been established. A PayPal account has also been created. We are awaiting nonprofit approval for this account. As soon as it is confirmed, a nonprofit Venmo account will be added.
