We concluded our last evening of Skills For Success Kearney, NE 2023. It was a very memorable evening of dining, dancing and our program graduation.

Enjoy pictures from the various private home hosted dinners, as well as our graduation ceremony at the Merryman Performing Arts Center. We were blessed to have KPD Chief Bryan Waugh deliver our keynote address. Not only did he serve up an inspirational talk, he also joined the KHS Dance Catz dance party and busted out his moves!

This program relies heavily on community volunteers. Thank you to each and every person who donated time, resources and inspiration to this fantastic group of 7th Grade Students!

Parents: Please ensure your student addreses & sends the Thank You card to their dinner host.

Special thanks to Brandon Benitz for leading our particpants through an excellent etiquette session. Learning in this banquet environment at the Holiday Inn was terrific!

Our UNK table mentors were wonderful assets for all participants. Following dinner, Mr & Mrs Jeff Ensz demonstrated the waltz for our group. What a memorable evening for all!

Etiquette Dinner will be Friday night, February 3rd. See you soon!

Holiday Inn, Ballroom 1
5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Professional Attire

We will have a professional teach the kids about dinner etiquette and then dance instructors teach them how to waltz. The appropriate dress for the evening is professional attire. Girls can wear a dress or nice pants with a sweater and boys can wear dress pants, a button-up shirt with a tie. This evening is meant to teach what to wear to a wedding or a formal ceremony. If your child is unable to attend, can you please let Heidi Richter know ASAP.

The location is the Holiday Inn & Convention Center and the room is Ballroom 1. Please walk your child in to register as this might be new for them to find the correct location. This will help you in picking them up as we would like the parents to come inside and pick your child up as well. Thank you!

Session #2 is a wrap. Our participants saw examples of different types of dress code, modeled by UNK students and dressed by several local businesses. 🤩

Thank you to our UNK student leaders; Mason Casper, Emma Bond and Kelly Richards.

The evening ended with a country dance lesson by Mark Stute and Leslie Martin. We are blessed by their ability to teach such a large group. Fun experience for all!
