I found one of these growing in my flower garden this weekend, and it instantly brought back memories. ❤️

When I was little, my mom would take me hunting for these along country roads. We’d gather armfuls of them, bring them home, and she’d spray paint each one in bright colors before arranging them in a vase. I thought it was the coolest thing ever! 🌼✨

Seeing this one took me right back to those days. Now I’m wondering… who else remembers doing this? Did you, your mom, grandma, or someone special make colorful arrangements out of these giant salsify blooms?

I’m seriously thinking about bringing this trend back! 😊 Who’s with me? 🎨🌾💐

Welcome to the wild side of Everett Acres — where the flowers are blooming, the wildlife is thriving, and honestly… we’re starting to think we accidentally opened a free-range zoo. Around here, the entertainment is free and the “farm staff” includes:

• Orioles providing surround sound…
• Racoons running an organized crime ring by digging up our new plants and stealing our peanut stash…🥜
• Slinky, slithering snakes….
• Racing turkey….
• Geese and ducks…..
• And deer watching us from the trees judging our landscaping decisions…🐾🌻

Our picnic tables got a much-needed facelift this weekend! Fresh stain, fresh vibes, and ready for summer gatherings at Everett Acres! ☀️🧺

We also want to give credit where credit is due! Millie’s water table/picnic table was generously donated by the Eickhoff family, and our family-sized table was donated by Leo Manz. Here at Everett Acres, we love free and we love to upcycle! ♻️❤️
