A big mess is potentially in store for all of us in Mountain Green and Morgan this SUNDAY June 14th. Interstate 84 will be COMPLETELY CLOSED EASTBOUND from US89 to Mountain Green, starting in the morning at 9:30 AM, all day for the next 15 to 18 hours until 4:30 AM MONDAY. The only way back home from the lower valley will be through Ogden Canyon or Parley’s. UDOT contractors will be hanging steel for the new bridge over the river and the railroad all day.
Your Mountain Green Firefighters are already planning contingencies for additional resources should a large fire or emergency occur. Morgan Fire is always ready to help, along with Weber Huntsville Station. We normally depend on additional help from South Weber and Layton for large incidents, but they won’t be able to access Mountain Green or Morgan. We have arranged for help from our friends at North Summit Fire District to assist us should help be needed.
Also, stand by, Stage 1 Wildfire Restrictions are about to be implemented. No burning, no open flames, no fireworks.
