FBC Farms is gearing up for cooler weather (we promise it’s coming) and planting our fall crops! 🥕🍂 But before we dig in, we want to hear from YOU — our friends, neighbors, and fellow food lovers.

🌻 Sunflower update! 🌻

We just harvested our first batch of sunflower seeds — and with help from our little gardeners at Promiseland Learning Center, we’ve already planted the next round!

It’s such a joy to watch them dig in, get curious, and learn about how God grows big things from small seeds. 🌱

🥒 Cucumbers are having their moment! 🥒

Our vines are bursting with fresh, crunchy cucumbers this week—easily one of the most abundant and beautiful crops coming out of FBC Farms right now.

To celebrate this bounty, here’s a refreshing Southern Cucumber Salad recipe to inspire your next gathering or picnic:

Southern Cucumber Salad
✨ 3-4 fresh cucumbers, thinly sliced
✨ ½ red onion, thinly sliced
✨ ½ cup white vinegar
✨ ¼ cup water
✨ Salt & pepper to taste
✨ Optional: fresh dill or dash of red pepper flakes

Combine all ingredients and let chill for at least an hour. It’s tangy, crisp, and the perfect side dish for BBQ, fried chicken, or just a porch swing and some sunshine.

🐔 Meet the Ladies Behind the Eggs! 🥚

Our flock at FBC Farms has been busy—and it’s about to get even more exciting! 🐣 This summer, our teen hens (4-5 months old) are coming of age and will soon join our seasoned layers in producing beautiful, farm-fresh eggs each week. Right now, our hens lay around 6–8 dozen eggs weekly, but thanks to these growing girls, we’re on track to increase production to over 25 dozen eggs per week!

That’s a major milestone for us—and a blessing for the many families we serve. Our chickens enjoy a big open pasture, lots of sunshine —just the way God designed it. They roam freely, and their eggs reflect that healthy, happy lifestyle. Fresh, colorful, and straight from the coop.

Thanks for supporting FBC Farms as we grow good food and faithful community, one egg at a time.

Rolling into the weekend with cuteness overload 🥔✨

Recently the 3, 4, and 5-year-olds from Promise Land Preschool joined us for a spud-tacular adventure in the garden—digging up potatoes and learning how food grows from the ground up!

From curious questions to muddy hands and proud little harvests, these tiny farmers were all in. Along the way, they discovered how plants grow roots, why sunlight and water matter, and how farmers help feed our communities.

We wrapped up our time together with a cozy story under the trees—none other than Joanna Gaines’ “We Are the Gardeners”—a perfect reminder that growth takes love, patience, and a little dirt under your nails.

Thank you to Promise Land Preschool for making our garden come to life in the sweetest way. 🌱📚❤️

🎉 Harvest Highlight! 🎉

FBC Farms just donated 40 lbs of fresh-picked goodness to The Center in Kaufman - squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, zucchini, and okra—all harvested last night and grown with care, without pesticides. 🌱💚

Our garden is producing more than just food—it’s creating connection, nourishment, and hope. What a beautiful moment to give back and serve our neighbors with nutritious, homegrown produce.

We’re more than just a garden—we’re a ministry rooted in faith, service, and community.

FBC Farms is a project of FBC Wellness, created to nourish both body and soul. From fresh produce and free-range eggs to fellowship and hands-on learning, our goal is to serve families in Kaufman County with love, dignity, and purpose.

Each week, our farm supports local families, connects generations, and provides educational experiences for children—from preschoolers at Promise Land to senior adults in Kaufman Connect. Whether it’s harvesting potatoes, weeding together on Wednesdays, or simply sharing in God’s abundance, FBC Farms is a place where everyone belongs.
