Trolley leaves 10:am from the Heritage Garden on the Kaufman Square for stops in Kemp, for Footsteps of Bonnie & Clyde, Prairieville for the Norwegian Settlers, and returns to Kaufman for the El Chico story.

We are proud to announce that the 2015 Calendars, featuring early churches of Kaufman, will be available soon at these locations: Daisy's Dress Shop, Especially For You, Cordell's Feed Store, Medication Station, and Two Sister's Quilt Shop. The cost per calendar is $10.

Unfortunately the extreme weather has made it so we have to CANCEL the Christmas on the Square this year :(
Very cold temps, power outages, ice on everything makes for very dangerous conditions for kids and activities.....plus we're just not equipped with the proper gear to keep warm while being out in these extreme temps! Myself included! I really hate that the weather has turned on us...this weekend of all weekends!! Anyway, sorry and everyone be safe if you do have to go out and if you're traveling.... and most of all MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Please help us spread the word about the cancellation ... Thanks so much.

It's beginning to "feel" alot like Christmas....(sung to It's beginning to look alot like Christmas) lol
Yes this is the weekend for the Christmas on the Square event! I couldn't be more excited because the weather makes it feel more like a Christmas event :)
We are proceeding with all plans for this event - so BUNDLE UP, DON HATS, SCARFS, MITTENS AND GLOVES - IT'S DECEMBER!!!!!
Obviously, if we really do get freezing rain/sleet/unsafe driving conditions that would keep folks from being able to get out.....then we will have no choice but to cancel, however, if it's just COLD.... bundle up, come on out, experience the season on FRIDAY NIGHT with a Christmas concert by the high school Percussion Ensemble and songs by the high school Choir....these kids have worked hard for months on performing this program so please, if it's just a little cold, come on down to the square and give them an audience. The LIGHT SHOW is in the Heritage Garden this year and is going to be fantastic again this year.... plus we will have the MOVIE SHOWING of THE POLAR EXPRESS inside Maples Hall if it's just too darn cold outside... ... Then come back SATURDAY beginning with BREAKFAST WITH SANTA @ 10:00am in Maples Hall followed by PHOTOS with SANTA from 11:30 to 1:00. Other activities (lots of them inside) begin at Noon, ALL AROUND THE SQUARE! So pray that any rain/sleet doesn't make it to Kaufman.....and come on out :) Thanks...and continue to watch this site for up to the minute info on this event.

Ok... here we go... Christmas on the Square is officially on!!! I wish to thank all of those who turned out for the meeting the other night and thank you for taking on the tasks that you did....it will take an effort on everyone's part to have a successful event. The dates for those of you out there who are interested will be: Dec. 5,6 & 7. Watch for ads in area newspapers, emails, flyers, etc. for more details as the time nears :)

We have a Christmas on the Square meeting tonight at 6:30 at Maples Hall for all of you who didn't see or receive the email from our secretary, Erma earlier this week. Hope to see you all there.

Just a reminder, our monthly meeting will be this Thursday night, July 11, at 6.30 at the Garden. We will be meeting in the shade and it should be a short meeting. Please plan on attending. You might want to bring a folding chair and a cold drink.

Happy Fourth of July!!! Plan on attending the parade? We will be having the dedication at the recently moved Bacon Lumber Building on the square at 11 am!!!! Come by and check things out on site. Garden and other wonderful ideas brought to life by members of our community.

Tuesday May 14 at the Presbyterian Church Annex meeting. There are quite a few upcoming events that may interest you!!! Show your enthusiasm and ideas for what you enjoy by volunteering for an event!!! Car show, crafts, market on wheels, parades, cooking, dancing, Christmas....and anything else!!! This is our town and let's keep the history alive!
