Delta Kappa Gamma: Alpha Tau Chapter The Delta Kappa Gamma: Alpha Tau Chapter promotes professional and personal growth of women educators in the Kaufman County, Texas area.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International has seven basic Purposes that govern its program of work and study. The activity of each level of the Society implement the Purposes of the society. The seven purposes are:

*To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship
*To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education
*To advance the professional interest and position of women in education
*To initiate, endorse and support desirable legislation of other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women educators
*To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to nonmember women educators
*To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action
*To inform the members of current economic, social, political and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society

Such a great time with our Alpha Tau sisters last night! We ate good food, enjoyed good fellowship, and learned important information on how to set our affairs in order as we age. Can't wait for next month's meeting on October 13th! Invite someone to come with you!

Don't forget to bring $10 to offset the cost of the blankets we'll be tying and donating. Start collecting those gift cards for our Teacher Scholarship Raffle this year.

Happy Summer!

Just realized we never posted our April and May meeting photos!
April's meeting hosted a wonderful Spring Tea with all the ladies dressing up and enjoying lovely small bites and hot tea. We also were able to distribute the silent auction items to winners. Huge thanks to all who participated...we were able to raise just over $1000 which will help with our teacher grants for the coming school year.

May's meeting celebrated our country's 250th birthday and we had fun talking and share our patriotic memories. We also induced our new slate of officers for the next two years!

It's been awhile since we posted, but great things have been happening with our organization!

February's meeting had us enjoying some "lovely" time together in fellowship and watching the Kaufman High School theatre kids perform part of the new play they are working on.
