Dr. Garrett Slater is an Assistant Professor and Extension Entomologist with Texas A&M AgriLife, specializing in honey bees and apiculture. His work focuses on honey bee health, colony management, and research-based solutions that help Texas beekeepers succeed.

Dr. Slater works closely with both hobbyist and commercial beekeepers across the state and is known for delivering practical, science-based information that you can apply directly to your own hives.

This is a great opportunity to learn from a Texas A&M honey bee specialist, ask questions, and gain valuable insight for the upcoming season.

The Kaufman Area Beekeepers Association (KABA) invites you to join our popular New Beekeeper Series!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first bee club meeting! It was wonderful to see such a great turnout and so much enthusiasm for beekeeping.

A special thank-you to Tom Damour for sharing his knowledge on Oxalic Acid and mite testingβ€”we learned a lot and appreciate you taking the time to educate our members.

🐝 What a Sweet Year It’s Been! 🐝

The Kaufman Area Beekeepers Association had a wonderful year full of learning, laughter, and great company. From informative monthly meetings to workshops, guest speakers, and community events, we enjoyed every opportunity to learn more and grow together as beekeepers.

We welcomed new members, shared tips and stories, celebrated our honey harvests, and continued spreading awareness about the importance of bees and pollinators in our community.

A big thank you to our members, volunteers, and speakers who made this year such a successβ€”we couldn’t do it without you!

πŸ“£ Coming up: Our New Beekeeper Training Program begins in February, so stay tuned if you’re interested in getting started or expanding your beekeeping skills.
