Katy Cares

Katy Cares Katy Cares serves and cares for single parent families who have been exposed to trauma and abuse.

Katy Cares was founded as a solution-driven response to the greater Katy area’s most vulnerable population; single mothers and children. We are assisting, serving, counselling and caring for these mothers and children who are victims of trauma due to a traumatic and life altering event. Events include domestic violence, separation, divorce, financial challenges due to a loss of employment, income,

child support, and/or a natural disaster. These mothers are facing overwhelming challenges and their situations are often extremely desperate. Katy Cares assists those single parent families who do not have sufficient financial, material resources, emotional resilience, support, or the psychological resolve to manage their current status and related challenges and, at the same time, keep their households going. Our Non-Residential Trauma Informed Therapeutic Program (TITP) is presented at our therapeutic facility, meeting rooms made available by churches, other non-profits, community centres or at the homes of small group leaders. Single mothers participating in our non-residential TITP have the opportunity to discover their unique purpose and embark on a challenging and rewarding journey towards a hopeful future for their families. Success is obtained through each mother committing to the challenging process detailed in individualized levels of our Programs based on the needs’ assessment of her and her children. In addition to addressing the immediate needs of our Program participants, we provide these single mothers with numerous opportunities to gain skills, knowledge, spiritual growth and making connections in the community from our rigorous educational advancement and through intensive counseling and support groups. Every mother that graduates from her individualized development program (IDP) can proudly say she has persevered, developed the necessary skills and reached therapeutic milestones to move forward with confidence. Every Dollar donated to Katy Cares will thus enable us to deliver on our mission effectively and continuously. It will enhance our ability to positively impact the well-being of these mothers and their children, build our capacity, increase our effectiveness and contribute to our sustainability.

Lyndsay brings a powerful combination of professional excellence, entrepreneurial leadership, and a deep heart for healing and restoration. KATY COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP
MEET OUR LATEST WARRIORS FOR CHARITY

Pastor Tim Barker and David Miller holding the Warriors for Charity Award

We presented our Warriors for Charity Award to Pastor Tim Barker and the incredible congregation at Katy Community Fellowship. Why? Because they are not just bystanders. They are committed and involved.

They understand that single-parent families aren't statistics—they're neighbors. They are coworkers. They are friends. They are family. They sit in the pew next to us on Sunday mornings. And they're facing battles most of us will never see.

Here's the reality we face at Katy Cares:
We can talk about our mission all day long. We can write beautiful mission statements. We can have transformative and development programs in place. But without partners and collaborators—churches, businesses, individuals, foundations, and organizations who believe in what we're doing—we can't impact a single family.

Our Warrior Partners make many things possible.
They don't just support our mission. They ENABLE it. They turn mission into reality. They transform hope into healing.

SO WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A WARRIOR FOR CHARITY?
It's simpler than you think. Choose ONE:
🔹 Donate $1,000 per year – Fund trauma-informed counseling, emergency assistance, personal development, parenting, and life-changing programs.
🔹 Provide $1,000 in groceries and essential supplies – Feed families in crisis and stock pantries for mothers starting over
🔹 Volunteer 50 hours per year – Show up, serve alongside us, and directly impact the families we serve
That's it. Join your battle. Join the ranks.
Because single-parent families need more than sympathy. They need WARRIORS.
Are you ready to fight for those who need you most?

GRATEFUL FOR OUR PARTNERS: KATY COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP
We celebrate Katy Community Fellowship and Pastor Tim Barker for years of faithful partnership with Katy Cares!
Under Pastor Tim's leadership, this incredible church has provided consistent financial support that enables single mothers to heal, children to thrive, and families to break cycles of poverty and abuse.
Their mission—"commissioned to make a difference in the world around us"—isn't just words. They live it by being God's HELPERS to struggling families.

Why church-nonprofit partnerships matter: Single mothers need more than programs—they need community. When churches like Katy Community Fellowship partner with organizations like Katy Cares, we create comprehensive care that addresses mind, body, and spirit.

Thank you, Pastor Tim and Katy Community Fellowship, for transforming lives through both spiritual witness and practical action!
