The Al Martinez Legacy Fund Our mission is simple: to grow futures, honor a legacy, and give FFA students the support they need to chase their dreams and create their own legacy.

The Al Martinez Legacy Fund was created to honor the life and legacy of Al Martinez, a passionate advocate for youth, agriculture, and the National FFA Organization (FFA) program. Today makes 1 year since Al went to be with Jesus. We are so thankful for all of the support that has been given to keep his legacy alive. We look forward to continuing his vision to support Katy FFA students. Our inaugural scholarships will be given out in May! 🖤💛🖤💛

Reminiscing today… really missing my Friday lunches with Al.

Every week I’d ask him where he wanted to go, and he’d throw out something like “I’m good with whatever.” Funny how “whatever” always ended up being Midway Jr’s. Brisket sandwiches, fries… and his must-have side of sausage. My mission every time was to steal as many pieces from his plate as I could get away with.

We’d sit there cutting up, laughing until we couldn’t breathe. Talking Astros baseball like we were on the payroll—breaking down strategy, lineups, all of it. Those conversations meant more than I probably realized at the time.

Fridays look a little different now, but man… I’ll always cherish those moments.
