Rosh Chodesh Elul, which in English means the beginning of the new month of Elul occurs at sunset on August 14, 2026. In addition, the start of Shabbat occurs at sunset. The Hebrew Scriptures indicate the beginning of each month is a special ocasion.

This evening at sunset begins the remembrance day of Tisha B'Av. On this date the destruction of both Solomon's temple and the second Great Temple occurred. It is suppose to be a day of great mourning by the Jewish people, but it is also a day of looking toward the appearance of the Messiah and proper worship.

I recommend reading Psalms, saying prayers, and singing songs of sorrow on this day.

Rabbinic Judaism, which is the traditional Judaism of the present, observes Shavuot, translated weeks, today. The holiday is called weeks because one counts seven weeks from the Feast of First Fruits and then the following day is Shavuot. Leviticus 23:9-14 says that the Feast of First Fruits begins the day after the Sabbath. Traditional Judaism says that sabbath day is the Feast of Unleavened Bread so both feasts occur one after the other using their system. However, Jewish Christians believe that the Feast of First Fruits comes after the seventh day Sabbath. Therefore, it should be on the first day of the week. There is an important reason for this belief. The Feast of First Fruits and Resurrection Day align using the Jewish Christian method, so Jesus/Yeshua becomes the First Fruits to God by having both days in alignment.

Because Jewish Christians believe the Feast of First Fruits occurred on the first day of the week, then Shavuot should not be observed today. It should be observed this coming Sunday, the first day of the week. Evidence for this comes from the passage in Leviticus 23:9-14, which says to count off the days of the Omer. This would not be necessary if the Rabbinic method were used because Shavuot would always occur on the same date. However, using the Jewish Christian method the date changes each year, so the days of the Omer must be counted to determine the proper day to observe it.

Today is holocaust remembrance day. I am watching on Fox live a ceremony honoring Benjamin Ferenoz at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Mr. Ferenoz documented the murder of more than 1,000,000 Jewish people by N**i SS leaders. Those individuals were put on trial at Nurenburg, Germany after World War II.

At 27, he became the lead prosecutor at the Nurenburg trials, where those N**i SS members were found guilty and executed. He went on to push for a world court, which now exists in Brussels, Belgium.

Mr. Ferenoz recently died at 103 years old. Today his daughter is receiving his congressional gold metal award in a ceremony at the Holocaust Museum..
