🧸 Help Us Bring Comfort to Children in Crisis
Katy Area CERT is requesting donations of new stuffed animals for our Comfy Pals Program. These comforting animals are vacuum-sealed and provided to the Harris County ESD48 EMS Department to give to children who may be experiencing distress during an emergency.

For the safety of the children, donated stuffed animals must:
• Be new and unused
• Have embroidered eyes, nose, and mouth
• Not contain buttons, bows, or other small objects that could create a choking hazard
• Be suitable for vacuum sealing to help prevent allergens

We cannot accept used stuffed animals.

A small stuffed animal can provide tremendous comfort to a child during a frightening or stressful emergency. Your donation can help bring a little comfort and reassurance when a child needs it most. ❤️

It's time to sign up for the Fall Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Classes.

Taught the CERT Rehab Firefighter class today as part of the Summer Series. Thank you to all that attended, Bay CERT, Jersey Village CERT, Cy-Fair CERT, PFire CERT and Ft. Bend County. Special shout out to Diego Escobar from HCOHSEM for demonstrating his bunker gear and suiting up in this heat for our outdoor Rehab staging activity. Cool towels were distributed along with water to our lone fireman. Great job everyone!

A HUGE thank you to our guest speakers at last night's Monthly CERT Meeting!

Capt. JaNae Breda shared how she is helping increase awareness of the CERT program throughout the community and discussed ways CERT can serve as a valuable resource for other first responder organizations. She is also working with Mary to bring additional training opportunities to our members, helping us continue to grow our knowledge and skills.

Trey Cox gave an excellent presentation on building and organizing a CERT go-bag. From essential supplies to labeling and storage tips, he showed us how to keep everything accessible and ready when it matters most. All of those items are able to fit in a few small go-bags!

Thank you both for taking the time to share your expertise and support our CERT team ☺️🦺
