ππ» IT'S FIRST DAY EVE AT BECKENDORFF! π»π
The backpacks are packed, the schedules are printed, the alarms are set β and tomorrow 1,600+ Bears walk through the doors at BDJH for Day 1!
That first-day energy is everything β the 6th graders finding their lockers, the 7th graders reuniting, the 8th graders leading the way. BDJH staff is ready, the campus is ready, and our BDJH family is ready to kick off an amazing year!
Letβs keep that excitement SAFE. Hereβs what we all need to do tomorrow:
β οΈ BECKENDORFF PARENTS β SAFETY ALERT FOR TOMORROW β PLEASE READ β οΈ
8:48am First Bell / 4:05pm Dismissal
π« DO NOT LET KIDS OUT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. EVER.
No dropping on S Fry Rd, OR Cinco Crossing Lane. No dropping students on the shoulder, the grass, before the entrance, or in the cul-de-sac off Cinco Cross Lane.
TxDOT + KISD PD ticket for it and itβs how kids get hit! Pull ALL the way into the designated car rider loop. Have kids exit with backpacks ready (not in the trunk)!
π« NO U-TURNS. NO EXCEPTIONS.
No U-turns on S Fry Rd in front of school
No U-turns in the school driveway / loop
No U-turns in the neighborhoods to cut back in
U-turns are what freeze the entire loop, block buses, and force kids to dodge cars.
SAFETY = NON-NEGOTIABLE:
- 20 mph, phones DOWN in school zone. Itβs the law and KISD PD will be out first week.
- Stop for buses β reds flashing = STOP both directions, unless divided.
- Buses = cafeteria side ONLY. Cars = front loop ONLY!
BDJH Staff are ready to support and will be helping students unload safely.
Once students unload, Right turn ONLY. Left across Fry backs up 1,600 cars.
Walkers + bikers use crosswalks and guards βNO running between cars.
One unsafe drop on Fry puts a child in moving traffic.
Letβs show the new 6th grade families how BDJH does it β patience and safety are the number one priority!
Welcome back, Bears! Letβs make Day 1 the best one yet! π
