Merry Christmas everyone!

11/07/2025

I just want to shout out to our volunteers! Thank you all for giving your time, talent and heart to the people we serve.

Friends helping friends.
Neighbors helping neighbors.
Serving senior citizens in our community.
That’s what Faith in Action (FIA) of Dodge County is all about.
Our mission is to coordinate volunteers, provide resources and aid interfaith efforts to deliver services which encourage the independence of senior citizens so they can remain in the home of their choice for as long as possible.
What services do you think our senior citizens need to stay in their own home?

10/14/2025

I would love to hear from our volunteers. What is your favorite thing about serving our seniors?
I’ll start; My favorite part is hearing their stories of younger years. The roll they played in their family and in their career.

Great turn out. Thanks for your support!

The sun is shining today. Stop in at our booth while you’re at Marigold Days and get some ice cream. And if you are a volunteer for FIA, it’s free!

Southeastern MN Area Agency on Aging & Elder Network are hosting 2 FREE Dementia Friends Sessions in Dodge County.
July 24 at the Dodge Center United Methodist Church.
6-7 PM, with a 30 minute Q&A afterwards.
Aug 20 at The Kasson Public Library. 10:30-11:30, with private Q&A afterwards.
Also if you would like to become A Dementia Friends Champion, there will be a training session from 12 to 1:30 on August 20. This will enable you to facilitate one hour Dementia Friend sessions with friends, family, colleagues and the wider community.
On a personal note, my dad is in the beginning stages of dementia. I don’t know what to say or do. I don’t know what to not say or not to do. It’s such a helpless feeling. I plan on joining both sessions to gain as much knowledge as I can.
Pre-registration is required, at least 24 hours in advance of the class, so ample space can be provided and enough certificates of completion for each participant.
Please contact elder network to pre-register; 507-285-5272 or email Becca,
