Aloha,
Would you please read the following and consider helping with our Operation Blessing Basket project this year? As a non-profit organization, part of our mission at PearlSide Boxing is to provide community services and bless people through acts of kindness, “positively impacting the lives of those around us – especially those who can’t bless us in return”. Please partner with us in our comm
unity service project called Operation Blessing Basket, to bless elderly, needy, veterans, homeless and people in our own club and community that are suffering financially. Most of these people don’t have family to help them at Christmas – and we are giving them gift baskets/bags stuffed with things they need and special small gifts. Each basket costs about $25.00 to assemble – but they are worth way more because we try to get a discount on the items in the baskets or try to solicit donations of such items. This year, our Operation Blessing Basket is especially dear to our hearts. Through it, we will be able to bless 4 groups of people.
1) The homeless and needy of Kapolei.
2) The elderly and Keiki who have no one to help them at this time of year.
3) Veterans at the US Vet Center of Barbers Point
4) Our PearlSide Ohana – members of our boxing club that we know personally who are struggling and have lost hope due to economic challenges. It breaks my heart to hear the elderly folks “wish” for basic supplies such as toiletries or cleaning products; what a small thing to ask for as others are receiving video games, jewelry, toys and clothes – many more than they even know what to do with. It also breaks my heart to see the homeless sleeping on the concrete and rummaging in the trash for food. We also know of SEVERAL families who attend classes’ right alongside our members, who are struggling due to loss of jobs, illness in the family and just a string of unfortunate events. These people come to our class, putting on smiles outwardly and punching the bag to relieve stress, but truly needing a miracle in their life! Many of us are just a paycheck away from disaster – but these people are already there! Of course, we scholarship their classes when we know about their circumstances, but our hearts – AS FAMLY – are to help them through this trial – to be a part of turning their TEST into a TESTIMONY of God’s faithfulness to never leave or forsake us! Please, in the spirit of the season will you help us to bless someone who has nothing to celebrate this Christmas? By giving $25.00 to our Operation Blessing Basket, you will be helping them to have HOPE this Christmas – and isn’t that what Christmas is really all about? Giving HOPE to the world? 2000 years ago – there was no Macy’s, or Pearlridge Mall or Ala Moana or Amazon– there was only the birth of a child – JESUS – who brought HOPE from that moment on. Will you please help us continue to spread HIS hope and love? Your canceled check will serve as a receipt or a tax deductible receipt can be mailed to you upon request. Please mail checks to the address below by December 15, 2022. If you are a local business, please call Robyn at 348-9202 to arrange a pickup of product donations. You can also donate via Pay Pal with the email address: [email protected]
or you can donate via a credit or debit card at www.pearlsideboxing.org (click on the donate now button). you can also venmo at pearlside boxing or Coach Eiichi. Specifically again, how can you help?
1. Sponsor a basket at $25.00 each (to give away through Operation Blessing Basket) – and OF COURSE – you can sponsor more than one!
2. Contribute $5, $10, $15 or $20 towards the sponsoring of a basket
3. Contribute items needed for the baskets, such as fleece blankets, socks, liquid hand soap, sanitizer, wet wipes, ziplocs, rain ponchos, shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. or non-perishable food items and/or fruit. We like to collect at least 40 of everything so that the bags are uniform and everyone gets basically the same basket.
4. Drop off a toy or gift for a teen in the gym office. Must be unwrapped unless you write on the outside if it's for a boy, girl or unisex and also the age group.
5. Drop off tarps at the gym office. These will be gifted to houseless individuals on the west side. They should be 8x10 tarps. No specific color. They range from $15 to $20 each and we are hoping to give out 20 to 25 of them. We look forward to hearing from you and thanks so much for your friendship and most of all your faithfulness and commitment to helping us help others! Robyn and Eiichi Jumawan
