What does it take to bring our Native Hawaiian Convention to life?

Months of planning.
Hundreds of meetings.
Thousands of emails.
Countless phone calls.

From booking venues and coordinating vendors to programming panels, site visits, and last-minute pivots, every detail happens long before the doors open.

This is the work behind the experience.

Recently, Zabrina and the incredible folks from Haus of Puas led our staff in a pua kalaunu lei making workshop at our headquarters.

Seeing past participants of our KūHana Business Accelerator like The Gay Agenda Collective come back to share their mana'o and craft with us is exactly what this work is all about. Mahalo Haus of Puas for your commitment to sustainable, accessible floral services and for making something truly beautiful with us 🩷

Only 2 days until applications open ✔️✔️

We know that in many of our communities, asking for help is not always easy. Some families may feel hesitant or unsure about reaching out.

Communities across the pae ʻāina experienced damage from the March Kona Low storms. Native Hawaiian families throughout Hawaiʻi — from Molokaʻi to Waimānalo, the Waiʻanae Coast, Kahana Valley, Waialua, and beyond — continue to carry the burden of recovery.
If your home was heavily damaged or is no longer safe to live in, this program was created for you.

Eligible applicants may receive:
• Up to $15,000 for Native Hawaiian owner occupied homeowners
• Up to $7,500 for Native Hawaiian renters

The OHA March 2026 Kona Low General Disaster Assistance Program is here to support Native Hawaiian families facing the greatest recovery challenges. This funding is flexible, allowing families to use support where it is needed most.

Applications open this Saturday at kakoomai.org/oha. In person support will also be available for those needing assistance with the application process.
