SCHHA-Sovereign Councils of the Hawaiian Homelands Assembly The oldest and largest coalition of Hawaiian Homestead Associations dedicated to the perpetuation of the federal Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1921.

SCHHA advocates for the well-being of Native Hawaiians by ensuring the best management of our Hawaiian Home Land trust of 200,000+ acres created by the Federal Government and Administered by State Government in Hawaii. SCHHA Leaders are from more than 35 Hawaiian Homestead regions across the State, that work together on public policy and operate a Homestead Housing Authority and Community Developm

ent Corporation to advance the priorities of native Hawaiians on the land and on the waitlist for land. Under the Congressionally enacted Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1921, native Hawaiians of at least 50% blood quantum are eligible to receive lands for homes, farms, ranches and mercantile businesses. The SCHHA, similar to Tribal Organizations on the continent serves the interests of native Hawaiians to ensure our lands and resources are managed by the State of Hawaii for the benefit of our native Hawaiian people.
