Tacos. Margaritas. And the most meaningful conversations about death you’ll ever have. 🌮🍹.
From prepping the space to watching everyone lean in, laugh, and open up — hosting Death Tacos & Margaritas reminded me exactly why I started .
The feedback said it all: you want more. And honestly? I do to!
There’s something quietly beautiful about gathering around food and drink to talk about the thing we so rarely say out loud. Thank you to everyone who showed up and made it what it was. 💀🖤

Today we said goodbye to our little fish 🐟

Not in a rushed or hidden way… but with presence, love, and ritual.

We buried him in the yard, with our hands in the earth, taking a moment to honor his life — however small it may seem to some, it was meaningful to us.

With the little one, we spoke about gratitude…
for the joy he brought,
for the care we learned,
for the responsibility we held.

And also about grief — how it’s okay to feel, to pause, to remember.

These are the moments that matter.
Teaching them that life is sacred,
that endings are part of the circle,
and that even the smallest beings deserve to be honored.

Ritual is how we remember.
Ritual is how we love. 🤍

If this speaks to your heart,
comment “Ritual” and I’ll send you a gentle grief ritual you can use in your own life. ritual

Death doesn’t have to be something we hide from nature.
For me, it’s a conscious choice: to be buried in a way that supports life even after mine has ended. A green burial. Mushrooms assisting in the decomposition of my body, turning what I was into nourishment for what will be.
There is something deeply comforting in knowing that my last act will be one of giving back.

Let this sink in:
What option are you choosing to dispose your body after you die?
Comment GREEN and I'll send more info about choices available.

✨ Game Night with a Death Doula ✨

Talking about death doesn’t make it happen.
It makes us ready. It makes us honest. It makes us free.

I’m passionate about educating and empowering people around end-of-life choices: from advance care directives to the atmosphere you want around you and the way you wish to be remembered.

But this isn’t a lecture.
It’s a game night.

We’ll be playing The Death Deck a beautifully designed conversation game created by Lisa Pahl to help us explore the one thing we all share: mortality.

Come curious. Come open. Come as you are.
No experience needed, just a willingness to have real conversations. (And eat really good snacks!)

🖤 RSVP required Scale $22-$66

Two longtime buddies came for end-of-life guidance, and we ended up talking deeply and laughing a lot. 💛
These conversations don’t have to be heavy to be meaningful. What an honor for me to serve my community as a death doula.

There are so many ways to reclaim the art of dying for us and our loved ones.

I love to guide people to alternative methods that keep in tact the honor and sacredness of this passage!

Here on Kauai, I had the honor of helping officiate a paddle out and expressing an eulogy. It was a sacred moment of farewell ; tender, communal, and deeply human. I could feel that my presence was needed, and I’m grateful to offer support and guidance as a death doula and end-of-life guide. What a privilege it is to help hold space for love, loss, and remembrance.

Call for action:

If this work speaks to your heart, I welcome your support to help sustain this offering of aloha and guidance for families in times of loss.
Every contribution helps me continue to serve our island community with care and presence.

A question so many of us never ask:🤍
“What would a good death look like for me?”

It might sound harsh or even dark at first, but for someone who has held the hands of many as they take their last steps in this life to meet the great mystery on the other side, I’ve found this question often brings the most beautiful and profound insights.

🎐It can even be lighthearted, and yes, sometimes, even fun.

Here’s what the death of my dreams would look like:
I’ve lived a fulfilled life. My affairs are in order, and my relationships are at peace. My family is happy and healthy. When the time comes, I’d like to be at home, surrounded by loved ones, having spent my last days in nature. I’d prefer little or no pain. If I can still eat, I’d love small bites of delicious food — flavorful hors d’oeuvres with a perfectly paired sip of something delicious. Gentle healing touch. Tibetan bowls playing softly. A faint scent of night-blooming jasmine and subtle Palo Santo in the air. And the comfort of knowing my celebration-of-life wishes and rituals are clear so my loved ones knows how to honor me and care for my body.🎊

Now it’s your turn. ⌛️
What’s the very first image, feeling, or thought that comes up when you imagine your good death? Please share in the comments.
