Bong Naturalist Association A non-profit organization formed to benefit Richard B**g State Natural Area by providing volunteers and fund raising for the park's interpretive programs.

A non-profit Friend's organization formed to benefit the park and its visitors. Our members provide volunteer help and raise money to fund projects that contribute to the interpretive and educational programs at Richard B**g State Recreation Area. With your help we can do even more for RBSRA! Please join us and contribute to the preservation and beautification of this important area.

Pop up Astronomy viewing at B**g tonight. Lot F. 8:45 PM to 11 PM. Last night was a little cloudy so our Astronomer will be there again tonight with his telescope. Bring your own if you have one or look through his. Lot F in the park is a very dark place.

Remember that you need a park sticker/pass to enter.

Come help the B**g Naturalist Association clear Buckthorn from around the Park.

Please wear long pants, long sleeve shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring safety glasses and work gloves. BNA will provide loppers.

If you have school service hours to fulfill, we can sign off on your time spent volunteering.

Join us for an afternoon of Earth Day crafts and a hike as we celebrate Earth Day’s 56th anniversary. Founded on April 22, 1970 by Ga***rd Nelson, the late U.S. Senator and Governor of Wisconsin, Earth Day is now celebrated world wide.

Start at Visitor Center to learn about our planet by making Earth Day crafts using recycled materials. Bring your own recycled material or use some provided. Then join a guided hike on one of the trails and learn about the unique eco-systems at B**g.

Please dress for the weather conditions.

1:00PM – 3:00PM Demonstrations and presentations
7:00PM – 10:30PM Star Gazing (come early for set up)

1PM to 3PM To be held in and around the Visitor Center. Demonstrations and presentations on astronomy. What stars are made of, how they work, types of stars and planets, etc. See your weigh and how high you can jump on different planets. Walk on a scale model of our Solar System.

7PM to 10:30PM To be held at Park Lot F. Telescope Set-Up Assistance and Star Gazing. Bring your own telescope, or binoculars, or use telescopes by Tom Harper. Tom will be there to assist and explain.

Things you might see that night.... Jupiter, the king of planets, waxing Gibbous moon, Venus, stars, clusters, galaxies and more.

This event may be cancelled because of inclement weather.

A state park sticker or day pass required and carpooling is encouraged to hold down stray light.

Meet at the B**g Visitor Center parking lot

Join the B**g Naturalist Association and Capturing Kenosha to Photograph Birds and Other Wildlife at B**g!!!

Wear your boots and camo clothing to get closer to the waterfowl.

While 6:00 AM is the best time to photograph birds and wildlife, the event is open all day until 7PM.

Capturing Kenosha is accepting photos for consideration in their next year’s fundraising calendar. At B**g there are waterfowl hunting blinds not reserved and available to use on a first come basis, plus over 4,500 acres with many kinds of birds.
