Spring Astronomy Day
April 25 Multiple Events throughout the day
1:00PM – 3:00PM Demonstrations and presentations
7:00PM – 10:30PM Star Gazing (come early for set up)
1PM to 3PM To be held in and around the Visitor Center. Demonstrations and presentations on astronomy. What stars are made of, how they work, types of stars and planets, etc. See your weigh and how high you can jump on different planets. Walk on a scale model of our Solar System.
7PM to 10:30PM To be held at Park Lot F. Telescope Set-Up Assistance and Star Gazing. Bring your own telescope, or binoculars, or use telescopes by Tom Harper. Tom will be there to assist and explain.
Things you might see that night.... Jupiter, the king of planets, waxing Gibbous moon, Venus, stars, clusters, galaxies and more.
This event may be cancelled because of inclement weather.
A state park sticker or day pass required and carpooling is encouraged to hold down stray light.
