Mission: The Victory Project, an initiative of Sporting Kansas City, is dedicated to helping children through all of life’s challenges.

The Victory Project enhances the lives of children with cancer and creates inclusive opportunities through soccer for youth with disabilities and limited financial resources. We support children in the Kansas City and Midwest regions by uniting players, staff, fans and community partners. Kids with Cancer
We will enhance and enrich the lives of children with cancer. Soccer for all Kids
We will make the sport of soccer more accessible to children with limited financial resources. Kids with Disabilities
We will provide special experiences and unique opportunities to children with disabilities.

On Saturday, we had the pleasure of honoring Carson Bradney⚽️

Carson’s journey started with persistent knee pain that doctors initially believed was caused by stress fractures. Further testing revealed a tumor, and at just 16 years old, Carson was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. After chemotherapy and major surgery to remove the tumor, knee, and shin, Carson underwent leg reconstruction and is now recovering well.

Through it all, he has remained positive, continued supporting his soccer teammates, and inspired everyone around him!

Diagnosed with leukemia at just 11 months old, Rosie faced months of intense chemotherapy, procedures, and treatment before reaching remission in 2017. But her journey didn’t end there.

In 2018, while still battling cancer, Rosie was diagnosed with Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM), a rare polio-like illness that caused respiratory failure and paralysis. What followed were years of rehabilitation, surgeries, setbacks, and countless moments that demanded more strength than anyone should ever have to find.

But Rosie kept going. 💪

She worked to relearn how to breathe, eat, speak, walk, and so much more. Every step forward became a victory. Every challenge became another reminder of just how strong she is.

Today, Rosie continues to inspire everyone around her with her unwavering determination and beautiful spirit. Her story reminds us that even in the hardest moments, there is always room for faith, hope, and a little more courage. ✨

💙✨ On Wednesday last week we honored 17-year-old Jack Myre from Kansas City, MO! Jack’s journey took an unexpected turn during his freshman year of high school when persistent back pain forced him to step away from wrestling.

After months of appointments and testing, he was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin's lymphoma in September 2025. Following six months of chemotherapy, a May 2026 biopsy confirmed that he is in FULL REMISSION, and his heart function has thankfully returned to normal!

Today, Jack is focused on getting back to the things he loves, including jiu-jitsu, and hopes to run track or try lacrosse. Throughout his journey, his friends and community have shown him incredible love and support. His friends even shaved their heads alongside him and were there to keep him company when he needed them most.

💛 On Saturday, we honored 6 year old Olivia Robinson from Lenexa, KS. In September 2023, Olivia was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and underwent emergency brain surgery just 12 hours later. She then completed radiation and intensive chemotherapy, finishing treatment in June 2024. After overcoming additional health challenges, including a rare inflammatory disease in 2026, Olivia faced every obstacle with extraordinary courage and resilience.

Today, Olivia is two years in remission and thriving! She is a kind and joyful little girl who loves being silly, singing Taylor Swift songs, playing at the park, and swimming. Her strong and resilient spirit continue to inspire everyone who knows her.

Our Sporting Kansas City Special Olympics UNIFIED team was busy these past few weeks! Right after we played St. Louis, we turned around the following week and took on Minnesota United at home at Swope Soccer Village!

Thank you to all the fans that came out in attendance. It meant the world to our UNIFIED teams!

Big shout out to our partner UMB Bank & Whataburger for their support this season. While the UNIFIED season may be ending, the memories created this year will last a lifetime!

💛 On Wednesday night we welcomed 5-year-old Griffin Scanlon from Olathe, KS, as our Gameday Honoree! Griffin was recently diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia after weeks of worsening joint pain and fatigue. He is now undergoing treatment, and despite everything, Griffin remains an outgoing, energetic, and happy boy!
