One of the best things about play is that it gives children a safe place to encounter little problems, and figure out what to do next. 💡
When a block tower tumbles, a puzzle piece doesn't fit, or an idea doesn't quite work the first time, children naturally practice problem-solving, focus, flexibility, and persistence.
Of course, often our grown-up instinct is to jump in and fix it. But when it's safe to do so, try giving your child a little time first. Watch, wonder and narrate out loud, and encourage them to try again.
That thought of, "Hmm...what could I do differently?", is part of learning, too. 🧠
And this week, there's a little more time to try, try again: Play Café is FREE through September 19. Come play with us!
