When the hospitality industry asked for the opportunity to maximize the economic impact of the World Cup, we went to work.

Through collaboration with state and local leaders, Missouri restaurants and bars were given the ability to extend operating hours during the World Cup, creating new opportunities for businesses, employees, and guests alike.

And the results are already speaking for themselves.

We've heard stories of increased sales, larger crowds, additional shifts for employees, and visitors experiencing Kansas City's hospitality long after the final whistle. Most importantly, businesses have stepped up, operated responsibly, and demonstrated that extending hours can be done safely and successfully.

Too often, conversations around hospitality focus on limitations. We believe they should also focus on opportunities.

Advocacy isn't just about legislation, it's about creating real-world solutions that help local businesses thrive, support jobs, and strengthen our communities.

The World Cup has shown what's possible when policymakers trust business owners and give them the flexibility to serve their customers.

This is exactly why the Missouri Restaurant Association continues to advocate for our industry every day.

Kansas City businesses are seeing a surge in customers during the FIFA World Cup. Bars, restaurants and watch parties report large crowds as soccer fans from around the world visit the metro.

โšฝ๐ŸŒŽ The world is here, Kansas City! WE WELCOME TO WORLD!

Thousands of visitors will experience our city, many for the very first time, and that's incredibly cool when you really think about it.

If you could recommend just ONE Kansas City food experience before they head home, where are you sending them?

A huge thank you to the Kansas City bars and hospitality operators that have gone the extra mile to participate in the extended operating hours available during the FIFA World Cup. โšฝ๐Ÿป

When the Missouri Restaurant Association advocated for expanded operating hours, the goal was to create new opportunities for local businesses to welcome visitors from around the world and capture additional revenue during one of the largest events our region has ever hosted.

The path wasn't without challenges. Thanks to the dedication of local operators who completed the required security plans and worked through the approval process, Kansas City guests will have more places to gather, celebrate, and experience the incredible hospitality our city is known for.

Seeing businesses take advantage of opportunities created through industry advocacy is exactly why we continue fighting for policies that support restaurants, bars, and hospitality operators.

As the world turns its attention to Kansas City, we're proud of the operators stepping up to showcase our hospitality community on a global stage. Thank you for helping make Kansas City a destination that visitors will never forget.

The official list of bars in Kansas City, Missouri that will be allowed to stay open 23 hours a day, seven days a week during the KC2026 FIFA World Cup was announced on Wednesday.

A huge congratulations to the Missouri Restaurant Association's Missouri Prostart students and Chef Michael Chrostowski from the Raytown C-2 School District & Herndon Career Center on receiving the Ray of Hope Award! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

At every Raytown Board of Education meeting throughout the school year, students and staff are recognized as a โ€œRay of Hopeโ€ for the positive impact they make within their school community and this group could not be more deserving of that honor.

Fresh off earning the National Restaurant Association Missouri Prostart Championship title, these students continue to prove that excellence goes far beyond competition. Their leadership, resilience, teamwork, and commitment to lifting others up have made a lasting impact both inside and outside the kitchen.

We are incredibly proud to see these future hospitality leaders recognized not only for their accomplishments, but for the character, humility, and heart they bring to their school, community, and our industry every single day. The future of hospitality is bright with students like these leading the way! โญ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ
