💜2026 Annual Baptism Day at Healing House💜

Earlier this month we held our annual baptisms at healing house. It was a beautiful day of faith, celebration and new beginnings!

Hundreds gathered together as 79 individuals stirred the waters of baptism—some taking this step of faith for the very first time and others rededicating their lives to Christ. What a blessing to witness each public declaration of faith and to celebrate alongside them!

The day was filled with worship, fellowship, lots of cheering and, of course, plenty of good food. Most of all, it was a day to celebrate what God is doing in the lives of so many throughout our Healing House community.

Meet Samson, the Joye House Peer Support Canine! 🐾

Samson’s story began with a trip to Kansas, where Bobbi Jo Reed chose him and brought him home with a purpose. Today, his gentle heart and calming presence bring comfort and companionship to people on their recovery journeys.

Samson always seems to know who needs a friend. When he is off duty, he loves sprinting through the yard, guarding his stuffed animals, chewing giant bones, and soaking up belly rubs.

His motto says it all: “Protect the toys. Love the people.”

Meet Spike, a social Siberian Husky who is equal parts couch potato and outdoor adventurer! 🐾

Spike loves relaxing on the couches, enjoying treats, and making friends with other dogs. When it is time for an adventure, his favorite place is Concourse Park, where he happily wades through the fountain water.

Whether he is lounging inside or splashing outside, Spike is always ready to have fun and make a new friend.

Meet Gypsy, a rescue with a big personality and an even bigger place in her family’s heart! 🐾

Gypsy may take time to warm up to strangers, but once you are part of her family, you are hers for life. She loves playing with the other animals, running through sprinklers, and admiring Christmas decorations and sparkling lights.

Gypsy’s story is a sweet reminder of what love, patience, and a second chance can do.

Meet Sitka Jo Reed, a living cloud with legs, opinions, and plenty to say! 🐾

This lovable Samoyed began his career as a long haul trucker’s copilot. Today, he serves Mama Judi and Bobbi Jo Reed as Chief Happiness Officer and Neighborhood Patrol Supervisor.

Sitka speaks fluent “woo woo woo,” welcomes everyone like an old friend, and performs tricks strictly in exchange for treats. He may be a fearless 75 pound protector, but when fireworks begin, he becomes a lap dog who needs Melissa to save him.

Meet Angel, the lovable Great Pyrenees of Erin’s House! 🐾

Angel shares her home with moms and babies, and she brings plenty of love and personality with her. She enjoys carrying her favorite toys, playing with the kids, and checking the kitchen counter for snacks that were obviously left there for her.

Angel understands boundaries in theory, but her excitement and size sometimes get the better of her. She loves her mama Tammy, and Tammy loves her right back.

Meet Otis, the lovable Lab and Akita mix who proudly calls Agape 3 home! 🐾

Otis loves toys, morning snacks, trips to the park, visits to the beauty shop and RCC, and spending time with the guys at Agape 3. Other dogs may not be his favorite, but people certainly are. He is loyal, affectionate, and especially fond of the ladies, just like his best friend Bob.

Meet Arlo, part Corgi, part Border Collie, part Chihuahua, and 100% personality! 🐾

After spending too much time alone in a kennel, Arlo was rescued from KC Pet Project when his dad stopped by “just to look.” Now Wesley House is his forever home.

Arlo loves treats, belly rubs, bird watching, car rides, and carrying his giant Pop Tart pillow everywhere he goes. He is proof that every second chance deserves a happy ending.

Meet Esther Mae, the youngest member of the Mama Judi’s House leadership team! 🐾

Esther takes her responsibilities seriously. She keeps watch over the neighborhood from the fire escape, provides extra love when one of the women needs it, and makes time for important puppy duties like digging holes and playing with her favorite blue squeaky pig.
