TransParent is a volunteer-run organization providing parents and caregivers open, nonjudgmental opportunities to connect, exchange resources, grow, and advocate for our trans and gender-expansive community.

TransParent envisions a world that honors and affirms the naturally occurring transgender experience. Our mission is to bring compassionate support to parents and caregivers navigating complex issues faced by gender independent individuals. Three pillars guide our efforts:
*Connection: Build parent communities to strengthen and aid families in their role as confident caregivers and advocates.
*Resources: Be a pathway to informational and supportive resources assisting families and their gender independent child.
*Visibility: Expand awareness, acceptance, and cultural integration of the full gender spectrum. Kansas City's monthly parent meeting (currently being help virtually) on the fourth Monday of each month, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Please contact [email protected] for more information. • Your child does not have to be present at parent support group
• Your child does not need to receive treatment through Children's Mercy Hospital, CMH

Children's Group + Siblings:
• Led by CMH Social Workers
• Transgender and gender-expansive youth under 17 are welcome
• Child does not need to be receiving treatment at CMH to attend
• Group guides social interactions and social support
• Group will help siblings build relationships with people who have had similar experiences
• Siblings must be old enough to engage and participate in activities, it is a social/support group (not babysitting)
