WyCo Providing Curbside Collection of Vegetative Debris on September 8, 2026
After this week’s severe storm, the UG has enacted a storm waste removal plan.
This plan addresses the removal of vegetative debris, which includes tree branches, limbs, leaves, and other organic yard debris. Any other debris or waste, such as construction, roofing, lumber, fencing, masonry, rubble, metals, garbage, etc. is required to be kept separate from the piling or bundling of vegetative debris.
Curbside collection of Vegetative Debris for areas impacted by the storm is scheduled for September 8th.
Curbside Collection of vegetative debris
curbside collection applies to any vegetative storm debris that cannot reasonably be taken to the Recycling & Yard Waste Center or is not collected by Waste Management.
This will allow residents, property owners, volunteers, etc. time to collect and sort debris and move to the curb for collection. This debris must be compiled and moved to the curb by September 8, 2026, to ensure efficiency for Unified Government staff and resources and limit impact on normal operations.
-In order for the UG to assist in a pickup of vegetative debris (any organic yard waste such as tree limbs, leaves, etc), MUST be separated from non-vegetative debris (construction material, masonry, roofing, trash, etc.) during these cleanups.
-Please note, that the UG is unable to take debris from businesses that are for hire, meaning tree trimming businesses, etc. A normal business that has vegetation from their property is acceptable.
