Behind every great genealogy discovery is an archivist!

Today is Day.
Thank you to the archivists who preserve the documents, photographs, letters, and records that help us uncover the stories of those who came before us.

Your work helps genealogists connect the past to the presentโ€”and we appreciate you!

Today is Indigenous Peoplesโ€™ Day.

Take the opportunity to learn about and honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous peoplesโ€”and to explore the stories of Indigenous ancestors in our family histories.
If youโ€™re researching Native American ancestry, start with these resources:
- National Archives: American Indian & Alaska Native records and research guides Explore NARAโ€™s Native American records
- Tribal Rolls: Learn about historical census, enrollment, allotment, and other rolls Explore Tribal Rolls
- FamilySearch: Native American genealogy research guides and learning resources Explore Native American Research

Take time to learn the history behind the recordsโ€”and remember that Indigenous communities and tribal nations have their own histories, traditions, and ways of documenting family connections.
