There are so many reasons to leave the leaves (other than the cute dogs loving them, although we feel like that's a good enough reason 😌 ).

But if you need more than that, here are some other ones:

🍂 Decomposing leaves make warm winter homes for many beneficial critters, like bees and butterflies.
🍂 Raking or blowing leaves into your flower beds takes much less time than bagging or burning them - and it's much better for the planet!
🍂 Piling leaves around trees and in flower beds helps insulate the roots during winter, prevents weeds and builds healthy soils.

Happy Friday! On Friday, October 16th at 9:00 AM, Bridging The Gap will be having a Grand Opening for our Mattress Recycling building location, or as we call it, BTG East. We will also be planting about 30 trees on the grounds and would love to have a passionate group of about 15 BTG volunteers to help. The planting will be taking place during the ribbon cutting event, as we want to showcase some of the other things we do to help our community and environment.
