Your September plans have officially entered the chat and apparently sleeping in didn't make the cut.

Join us Saturday, September 26 for TRC's FREE Youth Fishing Derby at Pierson Park! Fishing begins at 8:00 AM for ages 4–14, with prizes for the winners!

Pre-registration is encouraged, but we'll also have walk-up registration available until 7:50 AM the morning of the event. Grab the fishing poles and REEL in some fun with TRC!

Okay, Turner, we want to hear your ideas! If TRC could add ONE new family/community event in 2027, what would you want to see?

Maybe it’s something you’ve attended in another community, something you’ve always wished we offered, or an idea you think would just be FUN for families in Turner. We can’t promise every idea will make it onto the calendar, but we’re always looking for new ways to bring our community together.

So, let’s hear those ideas! What kind of event would you love to see TRC try in 2027? Comment or message us!

FALL INTO SOME FUN WITH TRC THIS OCTOBER! October is stacked with community fun at TRC, and we’ve got two events you won’t want to leaf (🍂) off your calendar!

Turner Days Parade Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
Saturday, October 10
8:00 am –10:00 am (Before the Turner Days Parade)
TRC Gym: 831 S 55th St, Kansas City, Kansas 66016
$8 per person – All-You-Can-Eat Pancakes!
Flip on over before the Turner Days Parade and start your morning with pancakes, sausage, and a drink! All proceeds support TRC program scholarships, so come hungry and help us stack up some support for our community.

TRC’s Annual Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat
Friday, October 30
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Grab your costumes and candy bags and creep on over for a frightfully fun evening of trunk-or-treating! No tricks here, just plenty of treats and Halloween fun for the whole family.

Two events. One BOO-tiful month. Plenty of reasons to FALL in love with TRC! Mark your calendars, spread the gourd (good) word, and we’ll see you in October!

BUMP, SET, PLAY! TRC Youth Volleyball is back! Register NOW for our Youth Volleyball Club! Whether your player is learning the basics or ready to build their skills, this program is all about volleyball, teamwork, confidence, and FUN!

1st–6th Grade
Teams formed by grade & current school
6 Saturday matches guaranteed played at Turner High School
1st–2nd grade is $35
3rd–6th grade is $50

HELP US FILL THE LOT! 👻🎃

TRC’s Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat has become one of our community’s favorite events, and we want to make this year’s even BIGGER! We’re looking for businesses, organizations, community groups, clubs, teams, and community members to decorate a trunk and join the fun on Friday, October 30!

You don’t have to be a professional decorator, we promise. Just bring a little creativity, some Halloween spirit, and candy or kid-friendly giveaways to share with our families.

We typically plan for around 1,000 trick-or-treaters, BUT please don’t let that number scare you away! If you’d love to participate but can’t provide that many giveaways, we still want you there. Just let us know on the sign up form!

Event Date: Friday, October 30, 2026
Event Time: 5:30–7:30 PM (add 30-40 minutes prior to the event time to get set up)

Last year we filled the parking lot, and our community showed UP. Now we need your help to do it again and maybe make it even bigger. Grab your coworkers, teammates, friends, family, or organization and come be part of Spooktacular!

REEL IN THE FUN WITH TRC! Join us Saturday, September 26, 2026, for our FREE, family-friendly Youth Fishing Derby at Pierson Park! Young anglers ages 4–14 can cast their lines, enjoy a morning at the lake, and compete in their age division for prizes.

Never fished before? No trout about it! You can still join the fun! Whether your child is a seasoned angler or just wants to give fishing a try, we’d love to have them participate.
Fishing Derby: 8:00–10:00 AM
Awards: Approximately 10:15 AM
Pierson Park – Shelter 2 (down by the lake)
FREE to register! Pre-registration is encouraged! Walk-up registration will be available the morning of the event until 7:50 AM. Registration is required for all participants.

A special thank you to Sol Pro Bassmasters, who will be joining us again this year and volunteering their time to assist our young anglers and help with judging!
