Historic Manheim Park is an emerging urban-core neighborhood located in the central part of Kansas City with the following boundaries (North-39th Street, South-47th Street, East-Paseo Blvd., West-Troost Ave). Homes in this community were built at the turn of the century during a period when Kansas City experienced rapid population growth and noted infrastructure development. The community is home

to approximately fifteen hundred residents. There are several large infrastructure projects that are currently in process in this area. Examples of these are the renovation of the historic Bancroft School- a $14,000,000 project, resurfacing of all new sidewalks, streets and planting of new trees, development of a model block at the 4300 block of Tracy Ave, Neighborhood Housing Services new home construction initiative and the repair/replacing of most side-walks in the community. New community partners are committing to supporting and sustaining the community (e.g., Green Impact Zone, Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce/Urban Neighborhood Initiative, City of Kansas City, MO, University of Missouri at Kansas City-Department of Urban Studies, BNIM Architects). The neighborhood association after being inactive for several years has been rejuvenated under the capable leadership of a new board of directors led by Dr. Seft Hunter. Crime in this community has been reduced by over 27% over the past year and potential new residents are expressing strong interest in moving to this community.
