We had an incredible 66th Annual Freedom Fund event today! Special thanks to our Mistress of Ceremonies, Emily Blanks, and our Keynote Speaker, Reverend John Fleming. Thank you to the USD 204 Choir for their moving performance as well.

📬 Know Before You Go: Common Reasons for Voting Provisionally — As an Advance by Mail Voter

Did you know that certain issues with a mail ballot application or returned ballot may result in a voter needing to use the provisional ballot process? 🤔

There are several reasons an advance-by-mail voter may be prompted to vote provisionally, including issues that arise when applying for or returning a mail ballot.

📨 When applying for a mail ballot:
• Incorrect or missing driver's license information
• The voter did not sign the application, or the signature does not match the voter's record
• The voter changed their address after the voter registration deadline

✉️ When returning a mail ballot:
• The signature on the return ballot envelope does not match the voter's record
• The voter did not sign the return mail ballot envelope
• The person assisting the voter did not sign the appropriate section of the return envelope

These safeguards are part of the election process and help election officials verify that ballots are properly associated with the eligible voter.

🗳️ Remember: Provisional ballots go through a review process to determine whether the ballot—or applicable portions of it—can be counted.
