Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of gathering for our annual charity golf tournament. We had local unions, community leaders, and sponsors show up in the summer sun for a great cause.

Without our donors and sponsors, this event would not have been possible. Thank you so much to those who ensured this tournament was a success! We had a great time and are excited to announce we raised over $20,000 in support of Working Families Friend, Mattie Rhodes and Guadalupe Centers.

Can't wait to see you folks again next year!

A few years back I had the pleasure of introducing Rebeca Amezcua-Hogan as young democrat of the year.

This year, I had the honor to give that same award to her husband Tristin Amezcua-Hogan. These two are such great allies to the labor community, it has been a privilege to be a part of their story as they grow.

Tristin has played several key roles in the labor community, and he is someone Building Trades has continuously trusted and leaned on. Tristin, you have done, and will continue to do great things. This award was certainly deserved. Congratulations to our brother, Tristin Amezcua-Hogan!

And a huge thank you to the Jackson County Democrats for hosting this event!

Do not let politicians take power from us. By voting NO on these 2 amendments, we keep our voices heard and ensure our collective power and taxes don't go to politicians or the rich.

As the holiday season comes to a close and the New Year approaches, The Greater Kansas City Building and Construction Trades Council would like to say thank you to all who joined us in celebration this month at our annual holiday party. What a great day of fostering community and giving back!
