Team UK- Hereford World Conference 2025

Fantastic to have Ethan and Will, two of the 2025 team and long time UKHY members able to support in teaching the next generation of breeders at this springs UKHY workshop!

Over the Bank holiday weekend UKHY celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a workshop at The Allwood Herd, and a visit to the Hollystone Herd.

Part of the workshop was based around clipping and dressing cattle for show, these sections were led by Ethan & Will. They were able to revisit their experiences and learnings from The World Conference in 2025, and pass these onto more members and young enthusiasts!

Well done to Emma, UKHY & HCS for putting on such a great day, and to Gerald, Amelia and their Family for providing such excellent cattle and facilities for the day!

🌟Celebrating 10 Years of Opportunity, Growth & Success! 🌟

This April marks 10 years since our journey began, and what an incredible decade it’s been.

Our story started back in April 2016, when nearly 30 young people travelled from across the UK, including Northern Ireland, to attend our very first workshop, proudly hosted by Normanton Herefords.

That day sparked something special: a community built on passion, learning, and the drive to shape the future of our breed and industry.

Since then, our young members have achieved extraordinary things:

In 2018: A group of young members travelled to Ireland, attended a workshop and participated in young handlers at Tullamore Show

In 2022: We hosted the first ever breed society charity ball, with people travelling from all over the UK and from to Europe to attend the black tie event. £10,800 was raised in the process.

In 2020: A team of young breeders represented the UK in New Zealand at the World Hereford Conference

In 2025: Another team travelled to the USA to fly the flag for British talent at the next 2025 World Hereford Conference

Yearly representation at the National Stock judging competition held at Three Counties Show.

Many young members have gone on to win young handler awards across the country.

Our young people have been present and contributing at the British Cattle Breeders Club Conference.

Several have even been nominated for national awards in their own right, a testament to their dedication and skill

Alongside these achievements, hundreds have taken part in workshops, farm walks, training days, and unforgettable events that have helped shape confidence, careers, and lifelong friendships.

A decade later, our mission remains the same:

💪Empowering the next generation.
💪Opening doors.
💪Championing young talent.

None of this would have happened without the support of breeders, parents, supporters and the wider Hereford community.

So, THANK YOU!

It's been a great decade of progress and congratulations to everyone who has been part of the journey

And.......here’s to the next ten!

One month ago today, we embarked on an extraordinary journey to Kansas City, and what an incredible experience it was for Team UK. 🇬🇧🐮🇺🇸

From stock judging and meat evaluation to presentations, quizzes, fitting, and showmanship, we dove into a whirlwind of competitions. Amidst all this, we enjoyed extensive networking and socialising in some of the most beautiful locations, including the breathtaking Kansas Flint Hills and the iconic Chiefs Stadium.

We couldn't be prouder of the professionalism, effort, and dedication our team demonstrated throughout the competition. A true reflection of our commitment to this industry. The competition was intense and challenging, but we faced it head-on. Congratulations to USA Blue for winning the title truly a well-deserved victory!

The conversations we had, the memories we created, and the friendships we forged will last a lifetime. The common thread that brought us all together, our love for cattle and that is truly special.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Hereford Cattle Society UK for their unwavering support and belief in us. A huge thank you to our sponsors; your generosity made this journey possible. We also extend our appreciation to the American Hereford Association for bringing this competition to life, what an unforgettable conference it was! Finally, to everyone who reached out with words of encouragement, support, and love, thank you.

We eagerly anticipate welcoming the world in 2028! 🌍 🇬🇧

We were paired with K7 Herefords for both the fitting and showmanship competitions, and with Keller Cattle Company for the showmanship event. Thank you for the opportunity to use your heifers and for your generous hospitality. It was greatly appreciated!

We hope one day we can return the generosity if you ever come to the UK. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
