Happy 68th Birthday to the woman who made me who I am… my mother. ❤️🎉

There are not enough words to describe how much you mean to me. Growing up, you were my first teacher, my biggest supporter, my protector, my provider, and sometimes my personal FBI agent when I thought I was getting away with something. 😂

I have watched your strength and resilience my entire life. No matter what obstacles stood in front of you, you always found a way to make a way. Looking back now, I realize there were times when things were probably much harder than you ever let me see, but somehow we always had what we needed. To me, that felt like a miracle. As a kid to me, you were God! You would turn “we don’t have it” into “it’s taken care of” overnight.

Your heart has always been bigger than your circumstances. You have loved me unconditionally, prayed for me constantly, celebrated my victories, and stood beside me during my toughest moments. There is no version of my life where I become the man I am today without you.

If it were up to me and I had to choose my mother all over again, I’d pick you every single time. No hesitation. No second thought. Just you.

Mama, I would go to the ends of the earth and back to see you smile. You deserve every flower, every blessing, every celebration, and every ounce of love coming your way today and always. Thank you for being the foundation of our family, the example of perseverance, and one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me.

I love you more than you’ll ever know.

LADY MENTALITY 7th Grade has officially been invited to compete in THE ONE SIX in Louisville, Kentucky! 🏀🔥

This exclusive, invite only event features ONLY the top 16 teams in the country within the UA Future platform . To be recognized as one of the best programs in the nation is a true honor, and these young ladies have EARNED it through hard work, discipline, sacrifice, and relentless mentality.

July 20-22, the stage gets bigger.
The competition gets tougher.
And the standard stays the same.

We’re not just showing up…
We’re coming to compete. 💯

Congratulations to our players, Coach and MENTALITY Director , and families for continuing to represent MENTALITY the right way. The work is paying off, but we’re just getting started.

Happy 25th Birthday to the one who made me a better father. ❤️

It feels like yesterday I met this beautiful little 11 year old girl, and I’ve been blessed to watch you grow into an amazing young woman filled with grace, substance, beauty, and strength.

I am beyond proud of you and thankful that through every season of life, we’ve continued to share a real relationship and connection.

No matter how old you get, one thing will never change… I will always be your father, and you will always be my daughter. Don’t ever question that and never forget it.

Congratulations to my son Elijah on your 8th grade promotion! 🎓

I’m beyond proud of all you’ve accomplished, but this is only the beginning. So much life, opportunity, and purpose still awaits you, and I can’t wait to watch your journey unfold.

What makes this next chapter even more special is knowing you’ll soon be walking the same halls I called home at Lincoln Prep for five years. Some of the best memories and moments of my life were created there, and it’s crazy to think you’ll now begin creating your own story in that same place. I know you’ll build lifelong memories, friendships, and moments that will stay with you forever.

‘The best are refined by Fire’ - Coach 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Basketball is more than dribbling and scoring. It’s fundamentals. The little things become the big things.

When you work out, you have to train with the game on your mind. Train at game speed. Train for game situations.

Catch the ball. Triple threat. Rip through. Repeat! Create that muscle memory so you’re doing it without thinking! Initiate the contact if the defender is crowding your space. If not, it’ll be a long game. Basketball is hand to hand combat and many players do not understand that. This is why turnovers happen.

Learn to deliver your off hand. Handle the ball without looking at it. Use your footwork to keep your body between the defender and the ball.

The little things add up over time, both good and bad.

Shout out to one of our youngest Lady MENTALITY members Amelia, getting work in with her big sisters and doing an amazing job. Keep putting the work in because the results will always show up in the game.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our amazing MENTALITY/LADY MENTALITY by Michael Watson moms! ❤️

Today we celebrate the women who are truly the backbone of everything we do. This organization would not be what it is today without the love, sacrifice, support, encouragement, rides to practice, long weekends, team meals, conversations, prayers, and countless moments you all have poured into our kids and our program over the years.

To the mothers of the past and the present, thank you for trusting us with your children and for helping us build more than just athletes. Together, we’ve built a family, a culture, and a community rooted in love, accountability, growth, and support.

Today, my baby girl Jayda Watson graduated from Albany State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, while also competing as a college volleyball player, and words can’t fully express how proud I am of you.

I was there the day you came into this world, and I’ve had a front row seat to your entire journey . All of the highs, the lows, the victories, the heartbreaks, and every moment in between. You’ve always said to me that you are the child most like me, and in one way in particular, I see exactly what you mean. Your strength. Your resilience. Your ability to keep going when life would have been easier to just give in. You said ‘F T B’ and kept moving forward. 😉

There were moments when people you loved turned their backs on you and walked away, but instead of becoming bitter, you chose to build. You chose growth. You chose peace. You chose yourself. That takes a different kind of strength, and I hope you never forget that.

Your perseverance and hard work paid off today, but this moment is not the culmination of your story, it’s only the beginning of a beautiful journey. There is nothing in this world you can’t achieve. Keep setting boundaries that protect your peace of mind. Be unapologetic about choosing what’s healthy for your spirit, and continue being the light that God created you to be.

I love you with everything that I am, and I will until I have no breath left in me.

These pics from 2019 got me sitting back like… where did the time go?!

Back then, these were just a bunch of funny dudes laughing all the time, arguing about who had the most hops, and thinking they were already the best in the city. Now look at them… grown up, competing, leading, and really stepping into who they’re becoming.

What made these 2023 MENTALITY by Michael Watson teams special wasn’t just the wins, it was the journey. The practices, the road trips, the moments in between. Watching them grow up right in front of us… that’s something you can’t replace.

Some of these young men are making noise on the court, some on the football field, and some carving out their own lane, but one thing is for sure… we’ve got FUTURE PROS in these pictures. 💯

And yeah… a few of y’all still owe me for those missed layups, blown close outs (LP3), and always starting the game off so slow that we had to climb back into when we didn’t have to! I’m still upset about those games! 😳😂

Proud of every single one of you. Keep going. The world hasn’t seen the best of you yet.
