This special Juneteenth Edition BRIDGE Breakfast marks the inaugural public launch of the Stronger Together Kansas City BRIDGE Breakfast Series following successful soft launches this spring.

Developed in partnership with the City of Kansas City CREO Department, the BRIDGE Breakfast was created to do exactly what its name suggests—build bridges.

Bridges between:
✔️ Black developers and Black contractors
✔️ Black-owned professional service providers and project opportunities
✔️ Public and private sector leaders
✔️ Emerging entrepreneurs and established industry experts
✔️ Relationships, resources, and economic opportunity

Our goal is simple but powerful:
To strengthen and expand the Black economic ecosystem throughout the
Greater Kansas City region by creating intentional spaces for connection, collaboration, contracting opportunities, mentorship, and shared prosperity.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not merely the absence of barriers—it is the presence of opportunity.

It is ownership.
It is access.
It is economic mobility.
It is wealth creation.

It is the ability to build businesses, create jobs, invest in our communities, and leave a legacy for future generations.

Happy Father’s Day from the Black Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City.

Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, bonus fathers, mentors, and father figures within our BCCGKC family.

Fatherhood is a sacred role—one of the most important responsibilities and privileges a man can carry. It is leadership. It is love. It is sacrifice. It is guidance. It is legacy.

As our members build Black businesses, create opportunities, strengthen economic ecosystems, and cultivate generational wealth, many are simultaneously raising families, shaping futures, and pouring wisdom into the next generation.

We recognize that strong fathers help build strong families.
�Strong families help build strong communities.
�Strong communities help build strong economies.

To every father who is showing up, standing tall, leading with purpose, and creating a legacy that will outlive you—we honor you.

Juneteenth: Freedom Is More Than a Date. It’s Economic Power.

On June 19th, freedom didn’t just arrive — it had to be built, and building has always been our genius.

Juneteenth ushers in our reconstruction. Not the reconstruction history gave us — incomplete, undermined, stolen back piece by piece — but the one we are authoring now.

The one rooted in Black economics. Black entrepreneurship. Black ecosystems of money and power that circulate, multiply, and stay home.

THIS. is what could never be legislated out of us: Our brilliance. Our innovation. Our ingenuity.

Our entrepreneurship that turned scraps into systems and systems into legacy.

Our determination that planted in winter and trusted the spring.

Our creativity that made something — always — out of nothing.

Our collective nature that never let “mine” outweigh “ours.”

Our family-centeredness — the table, the porch, the garden — where Black life was protected and passed down.

Our softness, intact, even after everything that tried to harden us.

We Built.

…still — still — we built. While others had a 200-year head start, we did not wait for permission to prosper. We tended our own gardens.

This Juneteenth, BCCGKC stands in that lineage. Every Black business we support, every dollar we keep circulating in our community, every entrepreneur we equip — that’s reconstruction.

That’s economic freedom, planted in real time.

Today, this Juneteenth is our time to reflect, give thanks to our ancestors, see the blossom and smell the flowers, and continue to GROW.

Freedom is more than a date. It’s a practice. It’s policy. It’s power — and it’s ours to grow.
